I think the o-line will be ok. Williams needs to stay active though, somehow. Why not play football?

I'm guessing he's going to be on blood thinners to reduce his chances of having a stroke. So it's probably not the best idea to be playing such a physical sport as football while on that type of med.

Stinks for Mike good effort on trying to make this comeback. Wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do. Most of the time however, these comeback projects don't work out to well.

Different circumstances but does take me back to the Erasmus James, 1st round bust project in 08 that had a bad ending after only a handful of games.

Good luck Mike.

I could understand if it was McNabb we were talking about. But BWM... really?

It's still early enough to find a decent veteran to bring to camp.

Prayers are with you BM. As far as the o-line, we really just lost a back up. Hicks was starting at rg anyway. There will be other guys available as training camp goes on. NO WORRIES!!

I think Big Mike could have started, but this by no means means the season is over before it starts. Sky is not falling

Gosh, I hope you're right...................................Its just that our o-line was so freakin bad last year. And with one guy going down alreeady before this season even starts. It just makes me worry that we're gonna suck again! I mean, what would happen now if Casey Rabach went down in Week 2 of the preason? CRAP! Thats what would happen! Man.................I need to build a bar in my house. Being a Redskins fan. I gotta have that bar..........

You have a point, BMW was attempting a career come back, not an all pro anchor of the line.
Hopefully somebody, (Rineart, Hicks,) steps up.

He hurts us at depth for the most part if this is a season ending thing. He was our best backup and a potential starter. Rinehart and co will need to really step it up. I still think just about all of our second stringers are bums. If we would have at least drafted one linemen in rounds 1-3 the past 4 drafts we would have been OK now. I forgot what round Dockery was drafted in.

Prayers and thoughts with Big Mike, blood clot near the heart is pretty serious. He exceeded my expectations of even making it this far and challenging for a starting spot.

This is just plain bad luck...but because we have a quality FO now, we went out and got quality depth in Hicks already so things are not that bad. Plus like said above, we still have time to add vet help. Rineart step up? He is in the same category as Thomas and Kelly as past draft picks im sick of waiting for...finally show it this year or get off the team.

Sorry Bro, thanks for . . . nothing? What the hell did he ever do for the Redskins? He was a lineman on one of the worst lines we've had.

With or without Big Mike I think the line will be powers of ten better because they now have a solid NFL QB behind them and that will make them better.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)

Put me in the BMW camp. Was rooting for him to really step up into the guard position. With that said, I hope he recovers - blod clots are not something to mess with.

I think our depth, while taking a hit, will be fine. I just have much more faith in a Shanahan coached line than a Zorn coached line. I also think we have more quality depth along the interior than at tackle - Maybe I am on crack but between E. Williams, Hicks, Dockery, Rabach & Rinehart we should be fine. If Cook develops, even better.
Our line at this point:

RT: Brown (Capers)
RG: Hicks/Rinehart (E. Williams)
C: Rabach (E. Williams)
LG: Dockery (E. Cook)
LT: T. Williams (Brown)

Rinehart, Cook, E. Williams and Licthensteiger fighting for the 2 back-up guard/center spots and then the two losers of that fighting Heyer for the 9th spot. As far as the interior of the line, I think Shanny will find 3 quality starters and 2 solid subs from that group.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)

Without Big Mike. Who my prayers are with.

We still have a good looking line.

JoeRed I have a couple of changes though.

For one I really want to know hwo comes out of training camp with the #1 LT spot. I know what we have heard about TW and JB, but with a Probowl LT on board, if TW does not look to top form in Training Camp I would expect MS and KS to start Jamaal Brown for the time being.

Having those 2 guys is going to be huge for us this year.

So we will go with TW winning LT spot in training camp.

LT- Trent Williams (J. Brown, Heyer)
LG- Derrick Dockery (E Williams)
C- Casey Racbach (K, Lightsigner, E Williams)
RG- Artis Hicks (Cook)
RT- Jamaal Brown (Heyer, Capers)

Trent Williams immediate back up is Jamaal Brown, but in my scenario we keep 10 line men on the 53 man roster. I don't know if they keep that many. In that case, I guess Heyer goes, unless you can practice squad Capers for a time. As I have no idea how these guys are looking Rhinehart could be there and one of the rookies could be gone.
