And those VT players will be beating the pants off of UVA this weekend as they go UNDEFEATED in the ACC. Yeah, their bums alright.

There's no reason to be hatin' on the guy. Give him a chance.

I'll second that. They've already got the ACC Atlantic locked up, and I'll bet they'll be repping the ACC in the BCS. This after an 0-2 start no less. And seriously who rips on VT players? They've made great pro's over the years. Now granted they don't have as many higher profile players like USC/Ohio State/etc. but off the top of my head i can think of plenty of NFL players who have succeeded who came from Tech.

Harris has skills, a lot of heart and passion for the game. I look forward to him playing for us.

I think Harris would fall under the category of "cheap and available". Given our injuries we're really not in a position to be too picky.

True, but it's great to find a guy that young who was a starter last year. The fact that he was still out there this late in the year may be a red flag that we're willing to ignore, but I'm excited as some others are cause we saw him make a lot of plays in college & know that he brings some toughness.

Heard him on comcast last night, he's excited to be picked up by his hometown team so he'll be very motivated.

I realize being great in college is definitely not the same as being great in the NFL, but I can vouch for the guy....he's got talent. He definitely played for a great defensive coordinator at Tech and got some good experience playing in a very good defense in Philadelphia. I think Harris will help us out.

Great signing! (as a VT fan i'm biased) but I've always been a fan of Macho. He can definitely help our secondary and he's a better FS in coverage than Moore or Doughty. He's not the fastest guy, but he's a gamer and a ballhawk.

haha hokies took the bait. gotta love it. Seriously though, UVA has turned out better pro talent. I started typing it all up, but I got lazy, so just look at the bottom sections of the links. Note, VT has no HOFs.

Bruce Smith is an NFL Hall of Fame inductee. It's called reading.

And Don Strock would have been if it weren't for that damn Dan Marino!

Cheap and available is a good way to put it. Maybe Macho spent some time recently at a Parisi Speed School.

I'm a Hokie, but I won't "take the bait" on this one. I think your argument is about right, UVA has turned out better pros overall, but not by a great margin.

Look at that list from the past decade though. Sure, UVA had more 'blue chip' players that went in the 1st round or even top 10 (Monroe, Ferguson, etc.), yet during that time (Groh's era) we have owned UVA, only losing once. Groh had some great recruiting classes, as did Welsh, but they didn't always lead to good teams. Groh's 2002 class was pretty hyped up, but things didn't work out. (btw, I'm a little worried about saturday simply because we have little to gain by winning, we're in the title game already).

FYI, Bruce Smith was a 2009 inductee in the HOF. A good UVA student (I'm married to one) would never assume Wikipedia's page is always correct or up to date!
