Re: REAL football news - Skins sign Atogwe!

Jamal williams and Justin bannan have been cut by the broncos. I don't want Williams anymore, but Bannan would be nice to bring in here cheaply. Kris Jenkins tears his ACL too much. He's good when healthy, but healthy hasn't been or recent the past 3 years.

Atogwe's a good signing, but I don't get why we didn't sign him last year when he was a FA. Anyway, like PFT.com said we may have gotten atogwe but we still need a DE a NT a ILB an OLB a WR a RB a QB and some OLineman...

Wasn't he franchised last year? He wasn't a UFA I don't think. If he was didn't they just wait to work out a contract?

Last we would have to give up something now we just need to fill our other holes like Oaklands Gallery and secure a the O-line.

It would certainly be interesting to add Gallery. I remember when he was going into the draft someone came up with a crazy idea to trade Samuels to the Raiders for Gallery. Fortunately it only remained a crazy idea but I like the idea of making him a Redskin, even if it's 7 years later.

Also let us not forget that the Redskins have brought on a former Raider OL coach as an assistant so theres a bit of history there on our end.

Still they need to get that Center spot shored up. Montgomery is better but it would be nice to have someone we could label as solid at that spot. Maybe Kory L. Williams, Gallery, Kory L, Joesph, Brown/Harris would give the Redskins their best OL in years. At the very least they'd be just as good talent wise as the Samuels, Dockery, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, line when they were healthy.

This sounds good I would love to get our O-Line right once again.

Re: REAL football news - Skins sign Atogwe!

This gives a lot of flexibility to all of our defensive packages. This move will actually help Kareem Moore because OJ can help Moore develop and help him stay healthy. With OJ and Kareem we have the potential for two good cover safeties with good athleticism, something we have been lacking since we lost 21.
In the dime OJ and Moore can split the the back and move LL in close to blitz with 98. QB's will be scared with these two coming. Add Von Miller or another great edge rusher in the draft with #10 and it would be really strong pass rush. We need a real NT to make it all work though.
Kris Jenkins is a bit old and has problems staying healthy.
Need to find a young NT.

I agree with everything you just said, the problem is that Von will be gone most likely when we pick. Quinn from UNC may still be there though.

Hopefully V. Miller slides to us. I know it's unlikely but the last time a defensive end had a slide in the draft we came away with Orakpo. Let's hope a similar situation plays out this year.

Disagree. Everyone said the same thing about Orakpo. Every year a couple teams reach for a player that fills a specific need over the BPA or just makes a boneheaded pick like Al Davis taking Heyward-Bey at #7. I think that Von Miller has an excellent shot to be there at #10. And I hope if he is we take him, and if not him Quinn. Everyone is right we do need another NT but i think Bryant was extremely serviceable at the end of the year and could make it at NT. I wouldn't be upset if we got a good NT in the draft but I think with all the pressing needs we have in other areas we can wait a year on NT if we have to.

Re: REAL football news - Skins sign Atogwe!

I just hope there are one or two two teams in picks 1-9 that reach for a player like teams do every year. A couple of Qb's being taken before we pick at #10 would be great. One thing is for sure, there will definitely be 2 to 3 studs to pick from when we pick at #10. An impact day one starter is a must at #10. We should not blow this opportunity to land starter and end up picking a project type rookie.
