Hey dude, just don't watch or go to the games. Nobody is forcing these idiots to fork over a wad of dough to watch the Skins. They want to blow the $ and waste 4 hours of their life doing just that let them. Last edited by GusFrerotte; 11-20-2011 at 05:56 PM. |

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
This feels like deja vu from 2009. Difference is, I feel like this team, with a few more pieces, will be headed in the right direction whereas that 2009 team simply sucked hard.

Back then it felt like bottom of the barrel with no light at the end of the tunnel. This time around it feels different. Another good draft, and a big upgrade at QB, and I think we're on our way. |

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
I think once the "super" committee fails and automatic budget cuts will be enforced, maybe a lot of these future ex govt employees won't have as much spending $$$$$$$ and then you will see Snyder a tad worried. The very reason you have the situation is the fact that Skinsland is DCland, which is the Fed govt, which is the only growth industry in the country for the past decade. Once the Feds have to bite the bullet, the "govt bubble" will start to deflate. In reality, it needs to burst. Skins fans that actually attend the games are probably mostly mid to low level govt employees, contractors, or lobbyists. So much money coming in, they can afford the outrageous prices.

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
Since DC is the US capital and is indeed the Federal Govt, you automatically have a distorted market since all of that federal revenue coming in props up the DC area, even when the rest of the nation is suffering. Snyder as I have said lots of times before is a frigging genius. He can make loads of $$$$$$$ even when his team is losing badly, since the fans are all high on the hog since most of them feed from the federal trough. William Clay Ford was called the worst NFL owner in Forbes magazine since his franchise lost money last season. Why? Autoworkers are out of work and can't see a game anymore.

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
OK, went out to run errands for a while...
I guess I should point out the "lol" at the end of the original post. This was a "tongue-in-cheek" thread pointing out everything that is so frustrating about this team right now. I did leave out the fact that we don't have cornerbacks we can count on either... lol It was fun for a while watching the game, but again, when you see the same mistakes over and over and over... (see Torain Stretch Play, Gano in the clutch, D. Hall's coverage on 3 & 15+ and the game on the line vs Dallas, etc) it sucks. It's even more infuriating when it's vs Dallas... at home... and we are now 1-7 vs them over the last 8.

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
As far as the Occupy Landover movement goes, I'm actually not on board, and here's why:
I believe the Skins are moving in the right direction. I know that sounds crazy, but for years I have been a critic of the way in which the FO runs this team. But lately it looks as though they have taken a different approach: building the team through the dract, eschewing burdomsome and stupid pricey free agent signings, cutting ties with bad locker room personalities. This is a rebuilding process and it is going to be hard and it is going to be painful, but it is exactly what many of us (critics of Snyder & Co.) have been asking for for years. I don't mind losing as much if I think the team has a plan, and I do believe we do. |

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
Actually the Pat's have the higest ticket prices and we come in second. Our tickets are only a few bucks over other teams and I'm guessing the price is inflated for the large number of luxury seats we have. I would love to see them do away with them and with the low ticket sales we may see that happen.
They're up: NFL tickets to cost about 5% more this season - Sep. 8, 2004 Sorry that link is old. I can't find a list but I did read that the Pats, Dallas, and NY are at the top of the list. Last edited by firstdown; 11-21-2011 at 09:01 AM. |

Re: Time for an "OCCUPY LANDOVER" Movement
Why don't you go on out there and pitch a tent and sleep there for a few weeks. You will probably be joined by a few homeless people and that should really get Snyders attention.
