Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
Yes. I know he'll never be an All-Pro but he has been around the league and has started a Super Bowl and he does mentally know this offense well. 2012 QB's in camp would be Grossman, McCoy, Beck, 5th or 6th round QB and maybe Clemmens or someone like it as another arm.

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
I would do what ever it takes to get RG3. If it takes moving up to the number 2 pick giving up the 6th pick, next years 1st and this years 3rd so be it. You have to make the move, you have to solidify the position. Id sign Vince Young in the offseason. I know most of you won't like this move. But hey its what I would do.

Looking at the trade value chart, the #2 is worth 2,600 points and our pick is valued at 1,600 points. That's a difference of 1,000 points. Our 2nd rounder is worth 520 points, and our 3rd rounder is worth 240 points. Even with those two, it's worth 760 points with a difference of 240 points. Which is why I think you could probably keep this years 3rd and give them next years 1st and a 4th possibly. It's going to be steep. I almost would rather trade to the #3 spot where the value is only 2,200 points. Draft Countdown - Trade Value Chart

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
Right now I'm strongly considering the following.
1. Sign Flynn in the offseason. This does depend on how much competition is out there for Flynn. He's still very unproven, but he has upside and is relatively young. If we can get him for a reasonable contract, do it. 2. Draft Blackmon or Kalil with #6. If both of those players are gone, try to trade down and go best available offensive player. If no trading players, cry quietly and draft another DE that we'll move to OLB. 3. Take Foles or Tannehill in the 2nd (or trade up if necessary) to develop. I would love to get RG3, but not sure if he's worth the price he'll cost to trade up. What I'd be willing to give up is not something STL would accept.

And why on earth would we draft Kalil, BPA or not... We aren't any more than a 10 sack a season less football team. We have STUD left tackle, baring marijuana cravings. Drafting a LT to play RT is one of my pet peeves, only dumb teams like Dallas do crazy things like this.

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
He's not going anywhere most likely, but he will be a free agent...so the first thing I would do is my due diligence by at least finding out what it would cost to pry Brees from the Saints

Nonsense we are the richest team in the NFL. Nothing comes between us and our new big name free agent.

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
Without a doubt. The worst that happens is you find out "no" and move on...which is by far the likeliest scenario. But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

No way the Saints let Brees walk he means everthing to the team and the city of New Orleans.

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger
1. I agree with SS in just checking on Brees, if that happened I would still draft one of the Arizona QB in the second round.
2. I would offer Indy this year's 1st and 2nd and next year's 1st and 3rd for the Luck pick. 3. I would offer the Rams this year and next years 1st pick and a conditional 4th or 3rd round pick for Bradford if they like RG3. 4. With TJ Yates hype, I would check Schaub injury status and what it would take to move him. 2nd round and 5th for him. I would still draft a QB this year in the late 1st, 2nd or 3rd round. 5. I would offer this year and next year 1st pick plus a conditional 4th or 3rd this year to move up with Minnesota to take RG3. 6. I would peak at Hoyer in New England and offer a 4th or 3rd round pick for him, still drafting a QB in the second round this year. 7. If there is no move up scenario, I like the suggestion by Gtripp to sign Henne and still go with one of the Arizona QBs in the 2nd round.
