Absolutely. His statistics alone should make him in....they're better than chris carters for sure. Sterling's best 5 seasons over his 7 year career are better than Chris's best 5 seasons over his 16 year career. And Sterling played with dog shit quarterbacking until his 1994 season. Even in 1992 and 1993 when Favre was there, Favre sucked until 1994. And all 3 seasons Sterling had Favre...he accounted for 43 of 70 of his TD passes...62% of all passing Packers TDs were Sterling Sharpe. For the most part, I think players should be judged by their best 4-7 seasons. Kurt Warner is a lock for the Hall...yet only had 6 seasons where he wasn't complete dogshit.

You forget how many great receivers with full careers are not in Canton. That would and should keep Sterling Sharpe from wearing the gold jacket.

I agree that he will not get in. I think he absolutely should. Not one eligable reciever for the HOF was as great as him. They all just played longer.

His stats are not that great and theres no way he'll make it,but I just loved that guy
That kick to set the record for fgs in a row and to win the game and in the snow has got to be one of the greatest clutch kicks of all time

I think at some point Roger Craig will actually make it in.

I will throw another name out there that I was surprised years ago to learn he wasn't in the HOF is Roman Gabriel (yes, I have a relationship with him too).

Roman Gabriel and Roger Craig both should be in Canton IMO.

Roman Gabriel, ah there's a name from the past. George Allen loved that guy, and ive heard Gabriel tell some pretty good stories on Allen. Put him in the Hall!!

George Allen's daughter named her first child after Roman. Then Deacon Jones got mad at her and said her father would roll over in his grave since she named a kid after an offensive player, so her second son was named Deacon.

Roman is a GREAT story teller. He got going one time about the old Hollywood days and told a story about Jackie Gleason drinking Deacon Jones under the table.

Dave Butz: 3x Super Bowl; 1 Pro-Bowl, named to 80s NFL All Decade team. 35 career sacks, had 11 in one season. Missed only 4 games in 16 year career.

I think his contribution was unfortunately overshadowed by some of other stars he played with: Darrell Green, Dexter Manley, and Charles Mann just to name a few.

I agree that Dave SHOULD be in. The problem is that 1 Pro Bowl which will probably keep him out. He was nominated this last go around and I forget how far along until he got cut.

I think there is an outside chance that Dexter will go in one day. His off the field issues will follow him. While super stars can get past that (LT), I don't know if just a "star" can.
