Seems like Harris has lost some confidence.

The thing I do not understand about the Jacobs situation is, despite the fact he has had problems with injuries, when he's not injured he still does not get any playing time.

injures = missed practice time, sos maybe he got behind there and just hasn't proven enough... thrash IS good for the clutch catch on 3rd and long every now and then, so its not like he's battling a practice squad reject. Still, if he's supposed to be so great, you figure he'd have shown it on scout team or whatever...

Re: Taylor Jacobs

Well, if he had more opportunities, I'm sure he'd do just fine.

If he'd earned more opportunities, he'd get them.

Agreed. If three time Pro Bowler, LaVar Arrington has to earn his way back onto the field, there's no way in hell the unproven, unhealthy(in general), third stringer, Taylor Jacobs, should be given anything.

Re: Taylor Jacobs

Having toooo many weapons to throw to is a good thing! As you will recall, the Boys of the nineties at their best had several basic targets. The playmaker, Jay Novacek, Emmitt, and whoever the 2nd reciever was. They were unstoppable.
It's not a bad formation. As have already been identified, we have some other guys we can work in more as well.

Re: Taylor Jacobs

What gets Sellers and Cooley open is the deceptive play where they start out on the line and fade to the flats for the pass. The opponents are so concerned with the blocking scheme that they forget about these guys.

Re: Taylor Jacobs

If it were me, I would have kept McCants and cut Jacobs. Jacobs seems to be the anti-McCants. Great practice player, but in the game, nothing. As someone already said, the coaching staff must see something that we don't see.

Yeah, that they wasted a second round pick on this no-show.
They are waiting and hoping to get some return on their big investment.

The excuses are many...if he didn't get hurt...if he got more playing time...if Moss and Patten did not get all the balls..etc..etc..

Jacobs needs to step it up and make the coaches notice him and want to play him. I do not think he has the ability do that.

But it wasn't this coaching staff's decision to select Jacobs. And I don't think this was one of those guys (Rock, Ramsey) that DS was pushing for.

Re: Taylor Jacobs

I just hope some other receiver besides moss can step it up soon. I hate to say it but if moss is taken out of the game, i dont know who can pick up the slack. Im not sure it it is because patten doesnt get open or because we dont call a lot of plays that go to him, but he has really not been involved in the offense that much this season. Its obvious that moss and cooley are our main receiving threats, and thats fine, but it would be nice if we could have another solid WR. I am not saying that patten, thrash, or jacobs cant do it, but they need to show me something more than what they have so far.
