Re: Our next coach??

Thought this was interesting.

Charlie Weis and Jimmy Clausen to Reunite with Redskins?

I'd still rather have someone else as HC. Let Weis be OC.

I actually thought that Weis and Clausen may reunite in Buffalo. They need SOMETHING to get that franchise excited again. I wouldn't be excited about either one of them in DC.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Agreed on Weis. I'm starting to like Bradford over Clausen a bit. I don't know, they're neck and neck for me. Need to see how Bradford performs at the combine. Of course, this is all assuming they go QB in the 1st round

This was an interesting thread also...

For those who have "inside info"/better logic than me: Whats Vinnys status now? - EXTREMESKINS.com

the second blogger is commenting on the story I heard also about DS staying late at the park.

Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis and QB Jimmy Clausen could find themselves together again with the Washington Redskins next season.

It’s a possibility.
Sure, anything is a "possibility".

I hate fuzzy speculation.

I don't think Danny could sell Shannahan & Vinny as anything other then more of the same. I like to think us Redskins fans are smarter then that...

If Vinny stays with Shanahan on board he'll be a figurehead at best

Hopefully he's turned into a "runner". The guy who gets Shanny coffee and bear claws...makes copies, fetches more TP for the office bathroom.

True but what I mean is that we would have a coach who likes big splash free agents and not much of a track record for good personel decisions to go along with Vinny. That does not represent any significant change in the way the front office operates. That's not good enough for me.

Re: Our next coach??

How can anything about who the redskins OC and 1st round draft pick be anything but sheer and utter speculation? We don't even know who our HC will be yet? And lets say, for arguments sake, that we do get Weis as OC. How do we know we'd be in a position to draft Clausen?

I think its far more likely that (if Weis doesnt return to New England) Brady Quinn ends up starting wherever Weis lands.

Regarding the 2nd post in the ES thread, i mentioned Vinny's bad-mouthing Snyder in an earlier thread. If Vinny is bad-mouthing Snyder, i see two possibilities:

1. Cerrato is even dumber than I thought, and upon learning that Snyder doesnt intend to keep him around, is bad-mouthing his current boss to his prospective employers - never a smart move.
2. Snyder has something really really really DUMB going on in the works - something so stupid that even Vinny thinks its moronic (Bringing in Pete Carroll and giving him total control maybe?)

I would probably lean toward #1 if he is bad-mouthing him. Which I don't think he is

I think we need a CEO type of HC or a Firey personality.

the dcsportsbog tweeted:
Zorn, on if bringing in Sherm Lewis was a good move: "That's a bad question, sorry. I wouldn't answer that question."

I would like to know the context of the question, and who asked, but man that's gotta be like twisting a knife in Zorn's back. He certainly could have answered with a plain, we have put up more points type answer. And I don't see how it's a "bad question"

kevin sheehan asked it on the jim zorn show today on espn980 - honestly, there was really not context to it. I was only half-paying attention because it was pretty boring, but i'm pretty sure kevin just asked the question and zorn didnt answer. Honestly, how could he? he'd either 1) be lying, or 2) admitting he sucks at his job.
