sorry, the CFL is full of people who couldn't make an NFL roster. in the 80s the NFL didn't pay well, top stars got maybe 1mill a year and everyone else had to have real jobs in the offseason. Now the CFL pays what 80k? and nfl min is 3-4x that. Theirs very very very little reason to play CFL ball if you can get an NFL paycheck.

I don't even know why we're discussing this, why did you come to a redskin forum to post about how amazing the CFL is? why not go to a CFL board that actually cared.

Contrary to your question: why did you come to a redskin forum to post about how amazing the CFL is? That is not why I posted my original question. All I wanted was to discuss whether anyone in this forum could see the possibility of the CFL all-stars giving an NFL team a game. It has become obvious to me that noone in this forum has even bothered to consider that the CFL could give an NFL team any kind of game. That sort of arrogance stuns me considering few in this forum has any clue about the quality of the CFL outside of what you may have heard. I have provided a list of historic games between the two leagues to show you that the CFL teams have given NFL teams a good game (and have even beaten them) in the past. I have given you a link to Warren Moon's interview about his experience in both leagues. Yet, noone would even consider the possibility that the CFL can even come close to competing with the NFL. Thus, the reason most of you are arrogant and small minded is because you won't even base your opinion on knowledge rather only on your inability to think that football exists outside of the NFL. What amazing people you are.

oh the irony... its killing me. You're theone who can't accept another point of view you so you start throwing names around? what an amazing way to prove a point. You're arrogance is just as bad as mine, so don't even try that weak and tired line. they haven't been competitive for a long time as their lack of winning in the information YOU provided shows. Warren Moon is a single player, where are all the other people seconding his opinion? cause i don't see any. I can find someone that believes in anything, one person's thoughts do not equal reality or majority.

you're arrogance and small minded-ness are stunning. truly.

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game

The only good thing about America Jr. is that they have a lot of oil that we can use over the next century.

CFL vs. NFL??? I would say that the XFL all-stars would wax the CFL players. They have nothing on He-hate-me! Is Jeff Garcia French? That would explain a lot...

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game

armchair's only proof of his opinion is a single player's subjective opinion (not based on facts). Moon has never (to my knowledge) held a GM or scout title for any NFL organization and the disparity in salaries between the leagues has grown exponentially since moon was in the CFL.

You're not looking for a debate, you're looking for either blind obedience or someone to tell you how smart you are. If you're incapable of having anyone challenge you're opinions then i'm sorry, but the internet just isn't for you.

Here's a fact for the debate, we just signed a RB from the CFL (6th pick overall and unquestioned #1 i heard), and he came to the skins where he's #5 or 6 on the depth chart and will have to be beyond lucky to even make the roster (much less every get a carry in a meaningful NFL game).

The money involved is so vastly disproportionate that almost NO ONE would ever stay in the CFL if they had the option to make 4x-100x as much per year in the NFL.

Do I need to ask if this is respectful?

Re: CFL Versus NFL Game

Oh, one more thing fellas. After watching that "YAWNER" that is called the Superbowl, I now agree that an NFL team would beat an all-star team from the CFL. No doubt, they would bore the CFL to death - (7 - 3) after the half - give me a break. With all their so-called superior talent you think they would put up numbers that didn't mirror a soccer score. WOW, you guys can keep it; I will continue to follow the much more exciting CFL.

blah blah blah, stay angry, keep hating.

The defenses on both teams were very good. Maybe they don't play defense in canada? either way, it wasn't a very good super bowl unlike the previous two years.

btw, if you want basketball scores, the AFL has a lot more points than the CFL... or women's semi-pro where you have a lot of 100-0 type games as well

I can assure you sir that my post has nothing to do with hating; it has to do with my observation about the game itself. I assumed that this is what this forum is for. If you want to see borderline hate, look at some of the previous posts made by others. I have tried to keep my conversation somewhat football oriented. Many others have taken the opportunity to go on the attack which is not surprising based on what I know of Americans. If you don't realize it already, the vast majority of Americans that I have talked with don't believe that anything of value exists outside of their own border. Many of the posters in this forum have just confirmed that.

you realize you started insulting people first and you continue to lash out while telling people your the victim right? All while making brash generalizations and nation-baiting :P

drop the arrogance. You stopped the debate a million posts ago and haven't answered any of the points i made or brought up any new facts. Instead its just space wasted with pointless insults.

How many NFL players have jumped to the CFL when both leagues would give them contracts? How many in the last 15 years? I'd guess the answer would be zero. How many have bolted canada to join the NFL though? Of those offered contracts i'd make a very conservative guess of 80%. If one league can suck talent out of every other league in the world at such a high rate, what makes you think they could compete besides the words of one ex-qb who didn't want to insult his CFL teammates and has never held a scout or general manager's post?

If you don't want to debate facts, you're just trolling. But everything you're claiming about othersyou've been guilty of too, and you've generally been the first to start it as well

If your perspective is accurate, then I fit right in don't I? Does this mean we are all brothers?

I think you need to name names if you are going to generalize. All you're doing is angering a entire forum when you simply say "others". Who are you talking about? What was said that led you to believe anyone "hated" the CFL? I would venture a guess that most here simply have little respect for it. Not hate. In fact I am damn sure that just about every comment here has been about our ability to respect the CFL. Why don't we stick to things that can be supported with honest arguments instead of going flamestyle when you encounter a vast group who simply disagrees with you? Open you eyes man you are the one perpetuating this entire thing.

Gee where to begin. Let's see: you say: "I would venture a guess that most here simply have little respect for it. Not hate. In fact I am damn sure that just about every comment has been about our ability to respect the CFL." Do you not see the nonsensical contradiction in these two sentences?
