Re: My Defensive Makeover
Do you guys really think that signing Clements to a huge deal will help us that much. Havn't we learned by now that signing players to huge deals doesnt mean huge success. I think we should just draft a corner with the 6th pick and start him off at nickel. Also the return of priouleu will help out alot. Last year when our defense was ranked 9th we had the same core group of guys starting, so i dont think that a huge overhaul over big more big name free agents is going to improve. I think we just have to put our faith in the coaching because we know we have enough talent because we've all seen what they can do. Its all about Greg Williams if u ask me, not personel

Re: My Defensive Makeover
Typical fence sitter that I am, I agree with some of this and disagree with some of it. PLAYERS (Springs, Daniels) have said that our defensive talent is not up to snuff. Since these are guys who have the talent to be successful, and I haven't played a down in the NFL, I will take them at their word. At the same time, I think GW "got some thinkin to do" b/c, with essentially the same lineup, the defensive dropoff from last year to this year seemed precipetice (even taking injuries into account).

Re: My Defensive Makeover
S: I would have Sean Taylor start at FS, and I would sign Ken Hamlin from the Seahawks to come in and start at SS I think Taylor and him would get along greatly with Hamlin being our new Ryan Clark. I would keep Prioleau, Fox, and Doughty as backups.[/quote]
ken hamlin...? you have got to be kidding me.

Re: My Defensive Makeover
great linebackers can play deep into their 30s, fletcher will be 32 for next season. look at the patriots linebackers (bruschi, vrabel, seau (like 37)), zach thomas, donnie edwards (still elite and hes like 34/35)

Re: My Defensive Makeover
I'll take another LB spot, i'm 6'2 and about 225, great at stuffing the run and decent in coverage, plus i'll come cheap and i'm only 18 so i have plenty of years left in me.
