I don't think Collins would be able to repeat his form from last year in Saunders', or any other system. While he's clearly a lot better of an option than Joey Harrington, I was surprised that we were willing to give him 3 mil a year to bring him back. I mean, you want to get a veteran presence behind Campbell, but only great players seem to be able to remain competent beyond Collins' current age. If Collins was destined to be a great player in this league, who just never got his chance, that speaks very ill of the scouting system in the NFL today--worse than anything I have ever said about it. More likely, TC isn't a great player, but a pretty good one with a very strong potential for failure here in his twilight years and beyond, especially given the expectations he set for himself last year.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
It seems like most people want to use a late round pick on a #3 QB on here. But we are collectively crazy if we think we are getting Booty with a late round pick. He will go third round at worst and i doubt we will spend a #3 pick on our 3rd QB.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
I am available?
Does anyone really care who the 3rd string QB is? If our 1st and 2nd string QB go down history tells us that we'll go down the shitter. I'm all for drafting a scrub QB in 7th round and hoping he turns out to be a gem.

Draft Kevin O'Connell.I think he'll be a great 3rd string..maybe even 2nd stringer someday.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
The only problem i've had with colt brennan is that he has a puny arm, he will just be one of those third stringers that will never get any playing time (Sam Hollenbach) cough... cough

Yeah, but Sam Hollenbach wasn't highly touted like Brennan was. Sorry, gotta defend my fellow Terp.

Have you been watching the same Colt Brennan that I have. His arm isn't that puny.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
Did you see some of his terrible throws in Senior Bowl, there was this one go route and he just kept holding the ball and when he released if fell about 10-20 yards behind the wide reciever, that was just one of his bad throws, and also there was nobody even getting close to sacking or pressuring him.

I would call that inexperience with those recievers and waiting too long to launch it. It could have also just been a bad throw, but his arm isn't that bad. |

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
IMO, grab whichever QB Bucs let go. Simms, Garcia, Plummer, Grotowski.... Any of them are more than worthy of 2nd string, let alone 3rd.
