Re: OK... Let the Haynesworth Petition Begin!
I've come to realize that Redskins fans are bipolar. On one had we want the team to build through the draft and be patient, develop our own talent, and stay away from the big name free agents and the big money that goes along with signing these types of players.
But whenever a big name is out there, people fall all over themselves clamoring for the team to sign them. It's total insanity. |

This guy reminds me of Stubby Dick who was Defensive Player of the year for the 49ers then came here and just blew.

Andrew Brandt has been a player's agent and has worked in the front office of the Green Bay Packers. He writes an excellent column on the business side of the NFL.
Here is a recent offering on the subject of Albert Haynesworth's impending free agency. Definitely worth reading... The National Football Post | Hayne$worth A Fortune

I'm just repping them because my cousin plays for them, and the Redskins are out of the playoffs.

Re: OK... Let the Haynesworth Petition Begin!
Thanks Smoot,
I was watching the Redskins game so I didn't get to see it live... then my phone blew up and I ran around my house screaming. Pretty cool stuff.

Re: OK... Let the Haynesworth Petition Begin!
Is it a short memory or a inability to learn from our past mistakes. NO WAY!!!!!!! Remember Dana Stubblefield and Dan Wilkinson. Dion Sanders or any of the other superstars that wasted our time. I don't care how good a player he is. Once he puts on that burgandy helmet he will morf into junk. Springs? Alexander? Draft!!!!!!

Re: OK... Let the Haynesworth Petition Begin!
i'm not completely for or against bringing in haynesworth. but its silly how many skins fans have written off free agency because of past mistakes. we've erred bringing in free agents who are a) too old, b) mediocre/over-rated/not suited for what we do and c) both
albert haynesworth falls into none of those categories. he's young and, at his best, everything he's cracked up to be. he would fill a desperate need. and could help us right away until the end of his contract.

Fletcher seems to be one exeption but I think he's still chasing a probowl. Kidding! He's one of the few who love to play for the sake of playing. But your right about writting off FA I guess it just hasn't worked out for us most of the time. So that's what some of us are afraid of. Last edited by 44ever; 12-18-2008 at 01:34 PM. |
