If Jay doesn't improve and team doesn't improve he shouldn't get another year for the sake of symbolism or perception. FO decisions should be based on production not perception. |

Definitely agree there needs to be some strong signs of progress. SM inherited Jay so he's got a lot to prove. Another 4 win season and he's outta here. |

And again even IF your "fact" were true it should be disconcerting that your new HC clearly was never on board with developing the franchise QB. You think Jay would have been hired if his plan consisted of moving on from Griffin prior to the season even starting? I find it odd that you dont view your notion that Jay wanted to play Kirk and not Griffin an indictment upon Jay. Quote:
The fact is football assessment seldom lends itself to simple soundbite analysis. There is rarely 1 "reason" for the success or failure of a play, player, coaching staff or season. Was Griffin's inexperience in a rhythm drop back passing offense part of his struggles? Sure. But the playcalling, game plan and coaching also played a role in his struggles. After all Griffin was even less experienced as rookie but was better as a rhythm drop back passer in that system then now. Heck, no QB was less 'prp-style' then Cam and look what he did as a rookie. I bring those up only to remind us that Griffin's performance or any player for that matter is tied to the quality of the coaching. Jay maybe unable or unwilling to coach anything other then his system. |

Consistency. You can't have it rotating coaches every 2 years.

If Jay can't cut it you have to move on. Same with RG3. |

I'm not sure you'd consider RG3 a franchise QB after the last 2 years of ineptitude. at this point it's either he starts to get his stuff figured out or he's going to be riding the bench somewhere waiting for another chance.

Consistency is meaningless with the wrong coach in charge. I wouldn't mind if Scot were to change HC's as necessary until he gets the right one to lead this team for the next ten or more years. I think the key to our future success is keeping Scot and letting him determine the right HC coach for this team. Ideally, that coach will turn out to be Jay Gruden and we won't need to make a coaching change.

Jay will be in trouble if we don't see some real progress from the team and signs that he learned from his mistakes last year. |

Yeah...sums it up. Everything else concerning rg3 and Jay is a waste of breath.
