i really am high on Nick Foles AZ, but I could deal with Tannenhil... and I'm still hoping that Manning gets cut and we sign him, even if it is for 3 years or 4 till he gets hurt or just hangs it up.. let a kid come in here and learn under one of the best ever. and while he's learning Manning would hopefully have this team competing much better than we are used to.

if No maning. I still say u draft Blackmon if available at 6...

wait and see who falls to u at 6.... i'd even be happy with trading back if we couldnt get someone we need at 6... but get foles/tannenhil later (3) ... we have needs IMO more pressing than GIVING AWAY our draft. Keep Rex as a 2 or 3 or even to start regardless...
i know he's not great but he's not awful either, he at least gives us a chance, and for all we know could improve givin a new deal of 3 years or so, however the circumstance ACTUALLY play out, we will see.
Did you just emerge from a coma? Seriously? He was the worst starting QB in the league other than the Painter/Orlovsky duo in Indy.

I really can't believe anyone would still support Rex after seeing him the past season +. Heck, just look at his entire career. Turnover machine.

He's a lock for 2 turnovers a game, at the least. You just can't win in this league when you're giving the ball up like that.

If he starts, i have to support him. i just said hes not as awful as some ppl... and in reference to keeping him? as a backup who knows the offense hopefully that would be the extent of his role.
I want foles and thats the for me.

Matty:

I agree with you 200%; Rex is not a satisfactory QB.

Having said that, look at the QB that the Skins had "competing with Rex" in training camp on something purported to be an equal footing. Compared to John Beck, Rex Grossman looks like a perennial All-Pro candidate...

I agree about Rex as a starter. Those days are over.

But I actually think he's one of the better backups in the league. As bad as we thought Rex was, a couple weeks of Beck changed that. The difference between the two was obvious. If Rex was the Bears backup they probably make the playoffs and Angelo keeps his job.

I have no problem bringing back Rex as a backup behind a clear #1 QB. If Rex is the starter...

Make no mistake, I'm talking about Rex. Beck was a backup. He showed in 3 games why he was considered as such and returned to his regular place. Grossman was our starting QB and was the worst in the league outside of Indy.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

i laugh every time i hear people say i want a top QB, but don't want to give up any picks. i get the part about the skins having a bunch of holes to fill. but this is a QB driven league. and im sick of all the nasty QB play we have had in DC the last 20 years. well i do not want to mortgage the future, i all but want the skins to do what it takes to secure a starting NFL calibre QB. i don't want Flynn, but can understand why the front office would sign him. lets face it, anyone not named Grossman or Beck will be a big improvement

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

this team is waiting for Matt Barkley, i will say thats how i feel... i wouldn't expect any crazy trades for Luck or RG3, i honestly think if something like that were to happen...... it will be with Matt Barkley if his level of play stays where it was this year...

but i think Luck and RG3 will be better in the NFL than Barkley.. so I dont like this feeling LOL.

I want a first and second round pick this, and next year. point blank for me.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

Only IF the Redskins had ended the season with an 8-8 or a 9-7 record would they be willing to wait it out another season before drafting/getting THE franchise QB of the future. I think after 5-11, there is just so much pressure on the Redskins to have a new QB under center this fall, that I don't think they can wait on Matt Barkley.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

My two cents on the QB situation. With a 5-11 season and having Grossman and Beck as our QB's they need to address the QB position this offseason. So here we go, we are in a bad spot in the draft to get one of the top 2 QB's. Usually to move up in the draft is done on draft day, to me that is too late to have notaddress the QB position.

So with all these rumors floating about a multitude of QB's we could get. I think if we either sign Flynn or trade for Hoyer or Sanchez then we wont attempt to trade up for RG3. Manning is not coming here. If we trade for Clausen or sign one of the other FA Qb's then i can see us still attempting to trade up.

IMO i think we have to either sign Flynn or trade for Hoyer, because if we take a chance with the other options of the other available or traded for QB's and cant trade up to get RG3, the Shanahans will be feeling the pressure from fans and Dan Synder IMO.

We're done with Rex as a starter. There's just no way we can go into another season with him and expect to win games.

If Rex is the starter next season, I would conclude that Shanny is tanking games to get in position to draft Barkley.

I really can't take another season of hearing about "tanking"
