Re: Owners Approve Deal
It looks like Snyder didn't cave on the issue of revenue sharing either. Strong work Danny boy.

Re: CBA is done
One thing I saw was that in the next couple of years salary proration will only be allowed over 5 years as opposed the 7 under the previous CBA - this will make it harder for teams to give big bonuses as they won't be able to spread it out as much (a minus for teams like the Skins that manipulate the bonuses to get a big "cash over cap" advantage).
I wonder how this will play out over the next few years. |

You're right. Under the old CBA Transitioned means they can match whatever offer he gets. Who knows under the new system. |

His old club can match a new club's offer, or receive two first-round draft choices if it decides not to match. • A transition player has received a minimum offer of the average of the top 10 salaries of last season at the player's position or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater. • A transition player designation gives the club a first-refusal right to match within seven days an offer sheet given to the player by another club after his contract expires. If the club matches, it retains the player. If it does not match, it receives no compensation. Transition players can be signed from March 3 through July 22." |

Re: CBA is done
I think we'll be fine as far as finding ways to manipulate the cap. Kinda sucks that the Redskins and Cowboys won't be the Yankees and Red Sox of the NFL respectively. Think about it, the Cowboys are considered America's team (I don't know about that anymore but lets say they still are for the sake of arguing). The Redskins would become the team everybody loves to hate (especially the networks). The Skins' would be buying all the players and the Cowboys would be right behind them in terms of the largest payroll. However the Cowboys fans along with everybody else would be complaining about how much the Redskins are spending on players. WE WOULD BE THE EVIL EMPIRE. Dan Synder would have become the true reincarnation of George Steinbrener.
However I'm still happy about the CBA. I guess mainly because Gibbs doesn't have a lot of time left and this is the best scenario towards winning now. With the CBA we can now go after Randle El, David Givens, a pass rushing threat, and a new starting Outside Linebacker, as well as use the draft to take the best available player. Plus no salary cap doesn't gurantee we can buy a Super Bowl. Another thing I like about the CBA is that it prevents the Eagles from regaining control of the NFC East. I was actually pretty sure if the CBA wasn't reached the Eagles would have been improving (through FA's) while the other teams were taking a step backwards. With a CBA we can build on last year and hopefully dethrone the G-Men. Anyway thats my rant.

Re: CBA is done
meh more like players play for the patriots for a reduced contract. im not seeing the eagles being the force they once were. theyll be above average, but winning and super bowl chances are how you get players to stay for less
ex. redskins
