Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
Good post Paintrain. I agree that Fassel is the guy for sure at this point. Why they are waiting to interview Spagnuolo and McDaniels I have no idea. They can't talk to them prior to the SuperBowl, and they are clearly in the process of cementing all the assistants. So why the charade? What's the benefit to Fassel, the current coaches, or the front office? What if Spagnuolo totally blows away Danny/Vinny in his interview but doesn't like the assistants we've JUST hired/extended? This is silly. Just hire Fassel. I have no idea why we're waiting.
And I agree with your points about Fassel, the experience in the division, and Skins fans eating some crow. I just hope Danny/Vinny don't mishandle the upcoming draft and critical personnel decisions...

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
He's always had a woody for him also and I'm pretty sure he also like Williams. Kiffin we'll get whacked next week and all hell is going to break loose. Maybe Fassel is waiting for this to occur and use as a negotiating point.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
its between spag and schwartz. i dont think we go with fassel now after the reports of him saying he feels betrayed by the redskins. also, if you think about it, greg blache i dont think will get the defense by himself while we hire a offensive minded head coach. i picked spag but also think schwartz could be the guy.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
I just want someone who isn't going to run the team into the ground.

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
I think it's pretty interesting, and I could see this happening, that the one and only team that Saunders and Williams have been given specific clearance to talk with is the St. Louis Rams.
Williams was mentioned to be the HC candidate when we hired him as DC and Al would be going back to where he first enjoyed success with Vermeil. I could see Williams taking this gig over Jax because it would represent more of a challenge and an opportunity to "show off" his talent at bringing together and fitting any guys into his system. They could end up in a weird scenario together again.... all St. Louis would need is Gibbs to come back!

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
I wonder where Haslett ends up if Williams goes there. Rams have a lot of potential changes pending, since the passing of Georgia Frontiere

It don't matter who it is as long as he can prove that he has what it takes on the field...

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
I don't understand. Continuity is family. Family doesn't change every 2 years. Snyder will never learn. Josh McDaniels should be on this list!!! That's who I want. I really hope I'm wrong but I don't see Jim Zorn as anywhere close to the OC that Saunders is. Blache will be fine. HC? Why isn't Vinny HC? Or Snyder? What difference would it make? Cowher won't be here. I think you might see Meeks. Amazing how Joe Gibbs stepping down let Snyder just go back to his pre-Gibbs antics. I'm truly afraid of the Deion, Bruce Smith, Spurrier days. My prediction is the team is tanked for 2 years and we rebuild again. Really hate to be negative about this new regime, but it reaks of the same old Snyder Redskins pre-Gibbs. Shiny object thing Snyder has. Can someone tell me how Jim Fassel and Jim Zorn are gonna blow up the NFC and take us to the Superbowl? Gotta be kidding me. And I'll be the first to beg for me to be wrong. I just think we're in for a few years of badtimes...

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
Bill Cowher, hands down. a proven winner, and a higher profile. everyone said no way that Gibbs comes back, and look what happened

Re: So Now Who Do You Want?
took Cowher 15 years to win a Superbowl. Remember Kordell Stewart? hmmmmm. And don't forget Cowher said he doesn't wanna come back this season.
