Mredskins, please post evidence of a decline in violence in the US since the 60's and liberalism and we'll discuss it. I'll save you the effort, you can't. Kids today, eh? Not good for much. Matty, back on track? We all agree beheading is anti-social, some even agree that it's wrong. I'd just like to better understand why most people think it's OK not to try to step in. I'm sure we can keep it civilized even though I'm being insulted. ![]() |

Re: Canada: Man decapitated on bus
I think there have been some good thoughts expressed here as to why people didn't step in. I don't think it's got anything to do with living in a PC world. It boils down to instincts and the fight or flight response to survival. And in the end what is the point of judging those that were on the bus? They witnessed pure evil that day and I'm sure plenty of them have second guessed themselves in the days following. I don't think there was any right or wrong decision made that day. If someone here would have choosen differently more power to you. I just don't see what the point is in second guessing what they did or didn't do.

From the moment this maniac decided to plunge a knife into this kid he never stood a chance. By the time someone could have realized what was going on and reacted he was probably already dead or very close to it. |

Still don't see where that would matter. The kid still would have been dead or very critical by the time someone could have shot this guy.

Re: Canada: Man decapitated on bus
A gun wouldn't have helped here. As soon as you get stabbed with a 9-inch knife once, you're pretty much a goner. Let alone the multiple stabs this poor kid took. It may take a few minutes to bleed out, but that kid was as good as dead as soon as he let out his first yelp.
All a gun would have done would have been to achieve instant justice. But it wouldn't have prevented any deaths.

Re: Canada: Man decapitated on bus
Good parenting can correct mischievous kids. And I'm in favor of delivering a good spank to my young'n when she acts up.
But no amount of good parenting, spanking or not, can correct crazy. You can't do anything to somehow guide someone from not developing a serious chemical imbalance in the brain. Seriously. Is there any other explanation for having a compulsion to cut up a living human being and eat them? Chemical imbalance, that's it. End of story. Parenting is irrelevant.
