I think we only have 2 players on the the roster 10+ plus experience. Last year we had 7, so we are getting younger. That's a good thing.

And possibly seven new starters on defense. I like the Hightower signing btw. He could be a good addition on 3rd down providing he can catch...we know he can block.

My guess is that you've captured Shanny's idea. I don't think Hightower is here to send Helu to the bench. Instead, he's here for insurance should Helu struggle learning pass protection.

Yeah! don't think he would be very excited about either Helu or Royster being in a game in critical passing situations until he's actually seen what they can do in game conditions. What it means for K. Williams may yet to be determined. The RB competition is becoming crowded.

Matty added 118 catches in 3 seasons.......that's money

University of Richmond baby!....Hightower has really been a success story, cant believe Arizona is getting rid of this guy...he does it all. Power back, pass block and catches the ball outta the backfield.

RT @john_keim talked 2 @daverazzano re: hightower (was w/cards when they drafted him): "I don't think he's as good as helu. he's a backup."

I think you get no arguement hes a back up. Hes not a starter but a guy who will touch the ball 10 times a game and come in a pass block (i.e. Portis entire value last year).

His best value will be this: he will get the ball at the goalline and SCORE, we've had a little problem with that for awhile.

Well, I think if he comes here and ends up backing up Helu from day one, it's the best of all worlds. Tim Hightower is a quality no. 2 RB in the NFL. I think that's his peak value, and it also would mean Helu is doing what he is drafted to do.

Plus, Hightower stays healthy and plays special teams, the biggest difference between him and Torain.

That's my feeling -- I don't know if you remember a few years back when Gibbs came back and whenever we got inside the 10, we could not score to save our life. It would be like 1st and goal from the 3 and we would end up getting pushed back to the 12 and having to settle for a 25-30 yd field, goal -- Hightower gets us those TDs

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.

Cards fans feel like we got a steal, IF Hightower can hold onto the ball. But Hightower's durability and toughness is huge when we face the rest of the East (started 13 of 16 games last yr)

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.

He's good depth to have. I don't think we gave up a fifth for him, but like everyone is saying, solid pickup. It's looking more and more like Keiland Williams won't be playing running back this season. Curious to see if this bumps Royster down to the PS, even though he was probably destined to go there anyways.

I think we gave up a sixth for him.

Just got a text that indicates there might be a hold up in completing the Vonnie Holliday deal to AZ for Hightower. #Redskins
