I was always a fan of this guy. Works hard week in and week out and I hope he finds success, even if it is on a division foe. (same with Bowen was disappointed to see him leave) But the fact is Choice had ONE good game and that was his rookie year when both Barber and Jones were limited with injuries. Since that game, he has been mediocre at best. His release is another example of the GM letting Garrett put his fingerprint on the team. No one is more surprised than I. Garrett did not draft Choice, hence no sense of loyalty. Garrett has released a number of players, especially on the O-line and offense and has put "his" players in there. The last 2 seasons, if Choice was not limping or gimping, he was putting the ball on the ground. His last 2 touches is Dallas resulted in 2 fumbles lost. Dallas was shopping him at the trading deadline and there were interested teams. But they quickly stopped shopping him when Felix Jones came up injured (AGAIN, I don't call him Fragile Felix for nothing). But the emergence of Murray made Choice expendable. Dallas needed to open a roster spot because they took Bruce Carter off the PUP. If Choice was not injured, I suspect they would have held on to him longer for insurance. But he could not be counted upon week in and week out. However.....I think he can excel in the zone scheme that Shannahan is famous for. So I really hope he does well. Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
Let's see, when the OL was healthy and blocking well our RB's were doing fine, Hightower, Torain, and Helu. The OL gets decimated and Hightower gets injured and now we need new RB's? Torain should still be healthy, Helu should still be healthy, they just picked up Tristan Davis for the PS prior to last weeks game ..... and now Choice. It seems like we have just as many RB's as WR's yet no thought to picking up more OL to start learning the scheme.

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
I don't see why we can't develop Helu into a Fred Jackson kinda RB

Because that will get in the way of Kyle Shanahan's passing attack.

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
Our RBs seemed to be solid and deep until TH went down, torain hasn't don't jack since the horrid rams D and Helu never gets carries so....

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
It's difficult to fairly judge the effectiveness of a RB without first considering the ineffectiveness of his blockers. Until the most important unit of the offense is upgraded, who the runner is won't matter.

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
Was chatting w/ a Boyz fan in my office and he said Choice is the best back on the Dallas roster apart from the injury history. I'm hoping we stick w/ Helu though and Choice can be backup and change of pace here and there.

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
Ruhskins is correct. Although Ngata has from time-to-time played NT for Balt because of injury or just to move him around, for the last few years Gregg held down the position and did a good job. It would be nice to have our NT play at Gregg's level. Maybe Neild, Balmer, or a player to be named later will step up because Cofield would make more plays at DE.

Re: Redskins Choose Tashard
Ngata is technically a NT (and listed as one in the Ravens roster), but on their depth chart the #1 NT right now is T. Cody (before it used to be Gregg) and Ngata is listed as the #1 DT. Most of the time, you will see Ngata lined to the left or right of the NT. They will line him up at the NT position too, but his typical position is right next to T. Cody.
