Re: Skins at Giants pregame

for everyone complaining about cousins making $20m this season while we have about $18m in cap space, would you have not re-signed him?

^^ Los, I think the large majority of fans would have tagged him like we did. No other viable option. I think I read the skins offered Kirk somewhere in the 16m per range which i think was fair market value. glad we didnt over pay. I like what we did with Kirk.

Plus, he will play better.

it was the best thing to do, the 2 sides could not get close enough. the sample size will be larger after this season, should lead to better negotiations.

i'm just curious what the complainers would have done in the redskins shoes.

From what i guess, use the 20 mil on 2-3 impact players and plug in colt. Im not sure Scot was really high on any of the big ticket FAs but who knows. Also, would we want to commit to multiple year, big money deals for who was out there? Would that have precluded us from having flexibility to sign Norman so late in FA?

I dont know but I do know that I like Kirk and finding a decent to good QB is harder than it seems. Especially one that seems to fit what the coaching staff is looking for. if Kirk ends up being an alex smith, thats not too shabby.

i'm w you here.

in response to the top portion, we still have about $18m in cap space. that's w norman under contract, we could have had 2 or 3 more impact guys under contract if scot wished.

Just noticed your Todd Collins avatar. Kirk is like a much better Todd Collins (isnt that an old mans drink?). A hell of a west coast system QB.

I find it really hard to believe we have 18 mil in free cap space right now. Wow, just checked, we have 15.4m. I thought we would be at 1-2 mil. The good thing is that any unused cap space can roll over to next year.

i've heard up to $19m, i got $18m from our own cap guys; it was either schneed or crazy canuck.

how much cap space can we roll into next year? at least one team rolled over $20m from last season into this season. it'd be great if we could roll it all forward.

Re: Skins at Giants pregame

Onset of a 2-1/2 day puke virus during the end of that Cowboy game. Which than ran through the rest of my house. Great few days.
Dont ever remember being that pissed off during a game, or ready to burn it all down on the gameday thread. Looking back I think it had a lot to do with the puke bug. Lol.
Anyway I don't think it is that crazy to say if we lose the season is all but over. If we win and build a little confidence than there are quite a few winnable games in the weeks that follow.

Re: Skins at Giants pregame

Giants with out starting RB (Jennings), RT (Newhouse), and one of their safeties (forget the. name). Need to take advantage of matchups. Reed and Kerrigan, now is the time.
