Re: ESPN 980's Chris Russell: 75% Chance Skins release Big Al this week
I think it's funny you still have Todd Collins on your avatar.

I switch it up pretty often, just my flavor for this week. Hey why not, he led our last playoff run with some of the better QB play we've seen in recent memory around here. Good times.

I would also say that I'm pleasantly surprised that the majority of posts on this thread weren't roasting shanahan for this situation, which is what I expected to be the case. It's about time we realized that shanahan isn't at fault for inheriting a worthless fat cry-baby and trying to get him to understand that he isn't exempt from the rules.

Redskins' Shanahan will meet with Haynesworth - Yahoo! News
Here is the nit and gritty of it all. I love Phillip Daniels and his work ethic. |

Albert Haynesworth takes heat from within Redskins locker room | ProFootballTalk
According to Adam S. The skins won't cut him before the season is over

Re: ESPN 980's Chris Russell: 75% Chance Skins release Big Al this week
he is making us suffer just as much as we are making him suffer by keeping him around. but what is done is done, let's just suffer together 'til the end of the year and get whatever we can for him. even if its a low round conditional pick or a 7th rounder. Anything is better than nothing, but if no offers come around then get rid of him.
...somebody has to think he is worth at least a 7th... right?...

Re: ESPN 980's Chris Russell: 75% Chance Skins release Big Al this week
I hope and pray they are not stupid enough to just cut him out right. Bench him, IR him, I don't care but to simply cut him ... no way. How about we look to trade for some Rookie on someone elses team to make a deal.
Hell at this point I'd take a 7th rounder for him. But don't just cut him. |

Re: ESPN 980's Chris Russell: 75% Chance Skins release Big Al this week
Daniels needs to be made a captain if he isnt already and bring him back next year. Very well said...the way he sumed up Shanny and the team dynamic was spot on.
In regards to AH, there is nobody in the history of this team Ive been so embarrassed to have on this team. Its absolutely disgusting how unproffesional he has been and how he has represented this team. We should not cut him, i think we can def trade him. But im thru defending him and his play, I want him off the team. It unbelievable.

In the next collective bargaining agreement there needs to be a DPL (Douche Player List) where teams can place players who refuses to fulfill their contract or perform on the field.
Fck the money, I say do whatever it takes to make his life miserable.

I would say just use better judgement when picking players. Giving this guy 40 mil was very poor judgement by our front office. They simply didn't do their homework.

Re: ESPN 980's Chris Russell: 75% Chance Skins release Big Al this week
""That's my point. I'm tired of going through season after season where we lose games that we should win, guys not doing the right thing, guys not putting the best effort in, whatever it may be. I'm tried of that, man. We deserve better."
- Philip Daniels I'm glad a player's finally airing out the dirty laundry. I think the Skins have been too loyal about keeping things in-house. The organization has lost for too long and the fans are at a point that transparency is needed. If a player is saying that loafing has been a problem every season, I say good for Shanahan and whatever kind of punishments he's handing out. Talent, scheme changes, luck be damned. I've watched teams like the Lions and Bills this season... and while their records may be worse than ours, they keep many of their games competitive. We've had talent in the past, schemes that have worked... the one constant? Losing. And it all starts with attitude. 3-4 or 4-3... missed tackling, players dropping passes, guys not going full speed on game day- that's a lack of focus and want. As long as Danny Snyder's pocket is the only thing suffering from such moves, I'll buy it. If I'm going to flog myself every Sunday watching the Skins lose, if I'm going to receive ridicule from all my friends over the years for being a fan of this team, if I'm going to have my hopes dashed every season at the halfway point... I'd rather go through such masochism if the performers are at least leaving it all out on the field. If professional football players have been able to skate by on less-than optimum behavior, I'll take the frito lays we'd get in return for Fat Al. |
