Just say I'm getting every last penny I can and won't take any less. Don't come out and say some bullshit like this. He must think we're all stupid. He would make one hell of a politician.

And if he said that you would have zero problem with it?

Nope. Just be straight up, that's all I ask for. I don't need any sugar coating or spinning.

He should've not even talked about it and let his agents and the Redskins deal with it. That's the best way to handle it in the media- not to have it in the media.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

How am I being a drama queen by talking about what he said on a Kirk Cousins thread on a Redskins fan site?

Market value means what I can trick some team into paying me whether I deserve it or not.

I want players, especially qbs as they take so much cap space, to be paid fairly.

25 million might be his market value but we'll be getting ripped off.

I have problems with his play, and I have problems with what he says. So shoot me.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Even if that BS was true, I don't want my qb worrying about future players for other teams, I want him worried about the Redskins.

I understand why players have to be greedy, but he already has made 20 million dollars just this year and will be rich his whole life, so sign a reasonable contract and help be part of building the team into a super bowl comtender. You don't need 25 million to prove your worth. This is about his ego. I don't care what other BS he says.

Honestly, I don't even think he wants to play here. This is just a guess/speculation on my part.

So what's a reasonable deal? He just made $19m, the tag for next year is $24m, so naturally I think some common ground can be found between those numbers. Anything less just isn't reality.

20 million seems fair to me and I don't think he's worth more than that. That would be top amount I'd personally offer him if i was in charge. The tag amount is based on the top 5 players at his position, and he's not in the top 5, so no way should he get that much. If he gets 22, I'd be upset (for lack of a better word), but I'd live with it, anything more I think it hurts the team more than it helps and he will be drastically over paid.

I just want it resolved one way or another so I can get excited about him or pretend he sucks and we don't need him, depending on how it goes, lol.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

When is the deadline to franchise players? I have a feeling it's going all the way down to the deadline again. That's gonna be fun.

It's not a good look especially after yesterday's poor performance. Didn't waste anytime did he?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I guarantee that Cousin's camp is going to come to the table with this, he got $19m this year, the tag for next year is $24m, and in 2018 it's $34m. So that's 3 years at $77m or $25.6m per year.

In the end I think a deal worth $22-23m per year makes sense.

Yeah, I could see that. We'll see how it works out. Hopefully if he gets that, we bet right and he takes the next step during big games next year.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

You can tell that this whole demeanor he has about staying with the Redskins is definitely personal. I think he feels slighted and unwanted by Dan/Bruce and he more than wants to stick it to those two assholes. (especially Dan) Let's be real, it's Dan who stopped Cousins career from advancing sooner due to his love for RG3, and even had to have Scott stick up for him to even remain on the team. (otherwise he would have been traded)

I do not think he is bitter about the RG-3 situation. Lets face it. Griff was the number two pick, and he was the roy. He has to understand that you do not just give up on that after year one?
I think Kirk certainly plays with a chip on his shoulder, but that is a good thing.
