Re: Let's talk good beer

a clerk at perfect pour told me that they should have about 99 cases of founders breakfast stout by the end of september. So i assume by late september it should be everywhere.

i moved to columbia so perfect pour is my new local shop. I like that they have a mix six option where you can select any individual 12 oz to make up your six. Before there were beers i wanted to try but was hesitant to throw down $15-20 on a total unknown (been disappointed to many times before). I got to stillwater's stout "folklore" (unique, 4/5), bells special double cream stout (mild, 4/5), eviltwin DK stout (solid, 4.25/5), bells kalamazoo (really good, 4.25/5), laguinitas aunt sally (mild sour ale, 4/5).

The sixer ended up costing me close to $20 but to be able to try a cross section of beers was nice.

Would you "cellar" the breakfast stout? And by cellar I mean put a couple 4 packs in the darkest coldest corner of my basement. I do like stouts that are mealy and have a thicker grainy quality to it.

I get beer shipped from france44 in MN and johns grocery in Iowa. I just signed up for Tavour.

Before you sign up look for promo codes (i didnt but wish I did) and if you refer a friend, you get $10 credit. So refer a friend. Matty you could have made some money if you sent ppl the link via facebook or twitter or email.

But it doesnt seem to offer an inventory of beers. It appears that it will randomly send you an email about a beer or two and if you like it, they will ship it. Kinda bummed you cant browse an inventory but im interested to see what kind of beers they offer.
---------------------------------

never mind. just got an email that they are limited to only a few states right now and MD aint one of them.
