Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
Everybody seems to think that Detroit will be stupid to trade their 20th pick and their 2nd round pick for our 13th. I think a more realist trade would be their 20th and a 3rd round pick, I guess it comes down to how desperate they are at the time.

Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
Well this was the team stupid enough to keep Matt Millen as their GM.

Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
I don't think Jim Schwartz and Martin Mayhew are stupid. If people think Detroit would give up their 2nd rounder to move 7 seven spots, then you are dreaming. The 3rd round pick is the first pick of the 3rd round which is more realistic. Good luck finding a taker in that kind of deal. You could also trade the 13th pick for their 2nd, 3rd and possibly a 5th rounder. Actually, the Redskins would do the kind of deal you describe. Giving a 2nd rounder and a 6th for a on old DE.

Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
I'm not a huge Rabach fan, seen him get pushed back into JC too many times, but RT is the priority. If one of the big 3 (Smith, Monroe, Smith) doesn't fall then we should draft DE/OLB at 13. I'm pretty wary of Oher for some reason.
While it may sound crazy, what's the harm in seeing what we have in Heyer? He started 12 games over the past 2 years and hasn't been overmatched out there. From what I saw he was an upgrade over Jansen. If we don't sign or draft a 1st round OT I'd give him the job going into OTA's and let him sink or swim.

As I mentioned a few posts back (I think it was in this thread), there seem to be some people who believe the problem is that they need to find another starting RT, while others feel it's depth-particularly on the interior-that's lacking. I don't know what the people who actually matter specifically think

Cobra - one update that has some impact on Barnes - the Jaguars just signed Tra Thomas to a deal so they will not retain Barnes. I don't know if the Eagles were ever interested in Barnes, but if they are not I would think the Tra Thomas signing weakens the amount of money Barnes can ask for with the Jags out of the running..... Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
If we were to sweeten the deal...maybe. I would be shocked and elated if Detroit gave us #20 AND #33 for #13. As SFREDSKIN said, a first and third would make more sense for Detroit according to the value chart.

Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
I feel like LB might just end up being a weakness for the D. We managed to cover it up a bit last year, so with AH maybe we can cover it up again. RT has to addressed via the draft either with #13 or in round 3 if the top 4 are gone. DE can be a rotation and the 3rd rounder (if we get an OT in 1). It can also be #13 if the to 4 are gone. Seems like the way we are heading.

Re: Willis picks Seahawks over SKINS
Sorry I guess I'm getting Barnes and Brown mixed up. Although Barnes was turned down by the Raiders cause they can't or won't pay what he wants.
RAIDERS EXIT KHALIF BARNES CHASE FOR GOOD Posted by Mike Florio on March 9, 2009, 5:14 p.m. After remaining a long-shot possible destination for Jaguars free-agent tackle Khalif Barnes, the Oakland Raiders have decided to call it quits. According to RaiderBeat.com, the team no longer is interested in signing Barnes. Multiple reports last week linked the former University of Washington lineman to Oakland. His agent, Kenny Zuckerman, has said that unnamed teams are interested in him, but Zuckerman has not identified any of the other supposedly interested teams.
