Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

1. Fire MS
2. Hire SS33 as Team President

Championship!

2012 Washington Redskins: Projected Starters for Next Year's Team | Bleacher Report nfl draft#/articles/939298-2012-washington-redskins-projected-starters-for-next-years-season

An opinion who will lead our team next year. I think there will be more turnover but that is besides the point. Shows we still have talent. He forgets to project the OL though

JLC spewing a small bit of garbage, again.

Redskins fans need only think back to Joe Gibbs's comeback to see how abruptly things can end.
Yeah, one of our players died and Gibbs was understandably emotionally and mentally spent. Lame.

Both teams passed on what looks like it could be a banner class for rookie quarterbacks to instead address defense high in the 2011 draft.
Let's think without hindsight for a moment. How did folks rate Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder and Andy Dalton? Cam Newton was not going to anyone but Carolina. Same with Locker and Tennessee. Even those two had question marks. Besides, if we did trade up, he'd probably be skewering us for neglecting the rest of the team, i.e our crappy Kerrigan-less defense.

And the Browns pretty much would have had to pick Dalton as their new QB if they wanted a QB, unless they traded up.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

MS knows what he's got. He's building this thing for the future. I just don't get all of the fans who thought we'd win 11 games this year. I like the optimism, but realistically our talent is not up to par right now.

There's alot to be positive about 2012 though:
Kerrigan
Orakpo
Jenkins
Riley-possibly
Helu
Hankerson
TW
Davis

Let me be the one to burst your bubble...there nothing until we have a QB. Sure the defenders are but they can only stop an offense for so long.

Sure. I get that.

We'll have a QB through the draft next year. This team had too many holes to fill to select a QB last year. My point is, there are some positive about the way they are building this team.

Of course it's early but in the 2011 draft we hit on:
Jenkins-From reports
Helu- very talented
Hankerson-early but showed some real potential last week

Hey, I didn't have any patience w/ Vinny & Co. I do have patience w/ Allen/Shanahan.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

The Redskins definitely great on defense. Last year's draft picks Kerrigan and Jarvis Jenkins, will probably be starters. The defensive line would have gotten more push this season had Jenkins not been lost in preseason.

This coming draft, Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan will have to look at the offense through a microscope. Both of them can see through their own two eyes that offensively the Redskins are terrible. Anytime a team scores just 20 points in three games then something is wrong. They need to take a look at Jamaal Brown, and determine if he's going to be a starter or if they're going to draft a RT. With Santana Moss aging but still very productive, the Redskins may have found his replacement with Leonard Hankerson. It's too bad we never saw a tandem of Hankerson and Moss. Terrance Austin may play the slot, but the Redskins need one more playmaker at WR. At last and certainly not least, the Redskins need to draft a young QB. Even if they have to trade up to the top 3 or 4th slot, they need to get a QB. If they can make a deal with Indianapolis with the chance of getting in position to draft 1st overall, then that's what Bruce and Mike need to do.

I know it's Schefter, but I think he was just tossing out it there with no real basis behind it

I guess it is referring to this.
Redskins could pursue Peyton Manning | Pro Football Zone

I wonder if Schefter is just doing a favor for Shanahan. If not, he's ****ing nuts. Sure, Peyton is one of the greatest of all time, but he more than likely can't take much more of a pounding on that neck of his. We need a young QB and young talent around him. We can't cough up multiple first rounders for a short-term QB.

Yea... I hear ya..... But if the asking price isn't astronomical ( which it will) I wouldn't mind Manning and drafting Moore in the 2nd and have him study under Peyton for 2 to 3 years. In the first we could draft Justin Blackmon.. I dunno... I kinda agree with you. Let's just draft Barkley or RGIII
