IMO, Kelly should get more work and Chris Thompson basically was the reason Cousins scored on the R/O...Thompson had been ballin all game.

Re: Skins lions post game
My bigger thing is, if you set the fumble issue aside for a second, I don't see a major difference between Jones and Kelley. Jones is bigger but he doesn't always run like it, he still dances too much and doesn't always get low enough. When he does he looks pretty good, but he's too inconsistent with it.
I don't think Kelley gives you the ability to run guys over, but he's going to be decisive going into the hole. I would start Kelley.

Re: Skins lions post game
I promise you they had no more running backs, than we do now. He would start Kelly and if Kelly gets hurt, he would bring in Chris Thompson. If they got hurt, he may just run Niles Paul. The next week they would release Jones and bring up Mack Brown.

Re: Skins lions post game
Great news!!
I'm told the MRI on Trent Williams' left knee revealed no structural damage. Belief is that he might be able to play Sunday.

Plus Thompson is an effin' good RB, but lacks the size, clearly. And Kelley is a rookie, so maybe he also has ball security issues, or other issues he'll fix in time, but we don't see them because he's getting less carries...

Re: Skins lions post game
Right? its so simple isn't it?
...I would continue to run Jones as the starter and work in more Kelly. Kelly looking like he is earning touches, but I wouldn't give up on Jones in the middle of the season. Maybe work Kelly more as the redzone/goaline back and explain to Jones he has to earn that work back. Thompson has clearly carve his niche.

Re: Skins lions post game
I would start Kelley for the next few weeks at least to see what he can do. As of right now, no way we start next season with the same 3 backs. Jones or Kelley won't be on the team next year IMHO.

Re: Skins lions post game
Glad to hear the news on Trent
https://twitter.com/MikeJonesWaPo/st...95698429300736 When do the Redskins need to leave for London? Given this, I wonder if JNo has any shot at playing next week. I know it is a toss up with concussions, I just feel that the trip to London will add another degree of difficulty.
