I'm going with o-line too, without them Portis and Brunell, and Betts, wouldn't have had good days. The penalties must stop though, if we were playing a good team it would've cost us.

Portis gets mine. He really set the table and his TD run at the end of the half was the clincher.

But that HOLE Matty.....I think even Rock coulda run that 1...although there was that 1 great move to go back inside. Still, gotta give it to the boys in the middle. Maybe just because of the improvement from 1 week. Then again, add that shuffle pass....hmmmm...can i change my vote?
haha

The funny thing before that TD run I was upset they let so much time run off the clock and did not call a time out (we had two at the time) and let 25 sec's run off the clock between plays. I was just thinking that we needed to try and score a TD not just settle for a FG. Then he just blasted up the middle. Portis should have scored on that first long run and I think he would have if he cut left to the middle of the field and not right where he was run out of bounds.

Re: Skins vs. Texans MVP

gave it to the O-line (loved Dock's play today)... Portis, of course, was the ultimate difference in the way our offense played.

Why force the issue when you don't have to?

The Skins absolutely did the right thing today. They established the run, they got some confidence going and most importantly they won the game.

That's how we won 5 games in a row down the stretch last year to make the playoffs.

I've went with CP, the O-lines penalties stopped me voting for them and whilst Brunell had a recird setting day I think that without CP in there we just don't have the same game.

the point is though, when you've got athletes like Moss, Lloyd, and Randel El you don't need to throw the ball 50 yards downfield. With these guys 5 to 10 yd pass plays can easily and very often turn into big plays.

Overall looking at the first 3 games as a whole, i'd agree. Need to take a few more shots...

However, there was no reason to do it today. We were rolling with what was working, so I have no problems dinking and dunking it down the feild if its going to work.

Again looking at the first 3 games, I'm in that boat too. Today though, no problems from me.

yes,the off was clicking today, and brunell was almost perfect, but if everything is going so well why dont you throw a long pass at least once,it doesnt get any easier than the texans secondary, youve got to try it at least once

I would guess that they took the deep one away. That might explain the 240 yards rushing as well as the 20 or so short completions that Brunell had.
