SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
There are two head coaching jobs available at the moment. Which do you think is the more "desirable"
Playing for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys Playing for Al Davis and the Raiders Try not to let your hatred of the Cowboys come into play and assume that the talent will essentially stay the same. Meaning Owens and Moss aren't going anywhere

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
People forget that Al Davis use to be a coach and I think that's why he won't leave the coaches alone. That has to be the worst job in the NFL. You probably have to ask Al if you can use the bathroom.

At least the Cowboys have talent and are a playoff team. The coach that ends up in Oakland is going to have a tough time. I think its a no brainer here.

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
You have to Believe the Cowboy's situation is a better one. They have a very young and aggressive defense, an offense that has proven it could put up points, and an owner who isn't afraid to spend money. Even with T.O., the new coach knows his contract is basically a year to year deal and if he becomes a HUGE distraction he could just let him go without having to deal with the "Dead Money".

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
I should clarify. When I say assume the talent will stay essentially the same that also includes the Raiders getting the top pick in the draft this year. So current talent plus the top pick in the draft.
Actually, maybe I should scrap the talent will stay the same because then you could factor in what lengths you think Davis or Jones would go through to help you win. I don't know. I'll let SkinEmAll decide. It's his poll

The Cowboys. It's not even close. The Raiders are a disaster because a. Davis is a lunatic and b. Davis is old and close to senile. I remember readinga story on ESPN that said a lot of people question how much Davis has left upstairs. On top of that the Boys actually have decent talent. The Raiders are a serious project.

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
I'm pleasantly surprised. I really thought at least one person would say the Raiders because of things like "Why deal with TO?" "Who would want to be a Dallas Cowboy?"
I think the Raiders HC job could arguably be the least desirable job in pro sports.

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
Okay, just for arguments sake, I'll take the Raiders HC job as being the more desireable. They are clearly a bottom rung team: nowhere to go but up. As terrible a team as they are, there is still some pride especially on Defense. That's something to build on. If I could trade away Moss and or Porter and a few other malcontents, I think there is some talent there to build off of. Even though it would take a major house-cleaning to find "core Raiders", I think the pride of the organization and the loyal Raider Nation fan base can be lead to a challenger......one day.
The cowboys are a media circus! From day 1 you're job is to find the right coaches and coordinators to ready the team for Sunday while you placate the press and Jerry J. They have quality players on both sides of the ball and are expected to produce immediately with that talent. You won't have much opportunity to bring in your game plan and get the superstars all on the same page. Personnel acquisition won't be on your list of things-to-do, that's Jerry's job. One of the greatest coaches... (excuse me....:vomit: ).... couldn't get it done, what makes you think you can?

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
I think the Raiders coaching job is actually a situation that could breed success for a young up and coming coach.
You have a defense thats going to be in the top 5, you have an offense that couldn't possibly get any worse. No matter what you do, you are going to enjoy offensive success relative to last year. Plus the difference between 2-14 and 7-9 for the Raiders is a few crucial turnovers. A new attitude could really be what the team needs. A good coach could win in Dallas too, but you would be stepping into bigger shoes. Expectations are higher, and a 10 win season in 2007 would surprise no one, even though that would be a great job by the coach, IMO.

Re: SkinEmAll Presents the Better Team to Coach Poll
only a young, up and coming coach would take the raiders job. al davis is way out of touch with todays nfl. jones has alittle clue, will spend money, and the cowboys have some good, young talent
