Hmm, Okoye is 19 years old and a senior...he skipped levels of school because of his intelligence, and he...gasp...smokes pot. So I guess smoking pot = intelligence! hahaha
People need to stop thinking that smoking pot is so darn bad. Stop generalizing and acting out of fear. It's not as bad as people think it is. I'm glad they were honest. Unlike Bill Clinton, I lost any shred of respect I had for him when he claimed "I did not inhale". Why not? So you either telling me you are too stupid to know how to inhale, or you are wasting someone's weed. Either way, you're an idiot. I can respect someone that has tried something and speaks out of experience. I can't respect someone that talks out of fear.

No problem...I can respect that. It's not for everyone, I understand that. But for others there are a ton of positives that outweigh the negatives that no one can understand but that person.

Remember when Warren Sapp's draft stock fell because he failed a test for marijuana? He had an okay career right? If someone beats their girlfriend or sneaks into a strangers dorm room and takes a dump in her closet, that's something you have to worry about, but some admitting to having tried marijuana? Shouldn't we? These are three of the guys we want most, right? Last I checked, marijuana is still illegal and its use is not allowed by the NFL. Now I'll skip the whole legalizing marijuana issue for now and get right to the heart of why this matters. Suppose we spend a 6th overall pick on one of these guys. That's a pretty big investment both in money and opportunity (at least, you certainly would hope that the number of high first round picks we get should not come along too often). So we pick one of these guys and he fails a urinalysis. That's 4 games we are without a player who had better be a starter if he's being picked 6 overall. I mean, we are all chopping at the bit to get one of these guys to fill a hole on our team. So doing without them for 4 games could easily make the difference between making the playoffs or not. Now let's take it even further. They get tapped a second time and we lose them for the year. They still don't learn their lesson?......we've got Ricky Williams. Do you think the Dolphins care about his marijuana use?

I'm just saying, whether you think it's right or wrong doesn't really matter. The real concern for teams should be making sure their "use" isn't a continued use and that it was just a college thing, or a frat thing, or some other immature reason that is long past. If it's an addiction, then you're talking about spending a high draft pick and millions of cap room on a player that can't take the field when he fails a drug test.
