My 94 Jeep Got Stolen
I got home Thursday night around 11pm and the Jeep was in my driveway. I went outside to leave for work Friday morning at 7pm and it was gone. The bastards broke out my back window to gain access to the inside and then stripped out the steering column. I sure hope they had a good time joyriding. At least they didn't steal my baby car seat, stroller, or $400 stereo.

Re: My 94 Jeep Got Stolen
Cops found it. There was only a quarter of a tank of gas in it, and they found it running this morning, so Im assuming all they did was drive it to where it was found less than 5 miles from my house.
For those of you that know Richmond, it was found between Jahnke and Midlothian Turnpike off of German School Road. |

Re: My 94 Jeep Got Stolen
Not exactly true quite yet. Its at the body shop to get fixed so as long as they don't consider it totaled I'll get it back. They need to clean the upholestry, fix the window and tint it, fix the steering wheel column and wiring, and rekey the whole car. Im assuming all this work should come in well under how much its worth but I guess thats up to the insurance company to decide. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Re: My 94 Jeep Got Stolen
Those jeeps are known to be easy to steal. I'm not sure why but I think its because the wiring is easy to get to and then easy to hot wire.

Re: My 94 Jeep Got Stolen
Well, I just kelley blue booked it and its private property price lists at $3,880 in excellent condition, $3,480 in good condition, and $3,000 in fair condition. Given the damage that was done, chances are that the repair bill will come over $2,000. Remember insurance companies will replace what needs replaced with "new" parts, where as you could probably get away with using "used" parts. I am sure that you would be able to find an used window and steering column in a junk yard. Cleaning the interior and the labor is what is going to really kill your price. Also, re-keying the car shouldn't be too bad, but the wiring could run into problems because if they did hot wire, or whatever, your car there is a chance that they may have ruined other instruments on your dash....
