Re: Pink slip Monday

I was mildly surprised Mangini got axed. I'm not saying a HC necessarily has to be a "rah-rah" guy, but he seemed like the total opposite. One of my closest friends is a Jets fan, and he heard that Mangini had lost a lot of that locker room. But I just don't know if 9-7 should get you fired. If anything their DC should go.

That was on Fox Sports.com. I think that would be a very good pickup for the Lions. Marinelli had no business being hired in the first place. It was interesting when Rob Parker and him got into it when Parker brought up his son in law and daughter into the 0-15 discussion. Marinelli got pissed!!!!!

I could too, however he already told Cleveland today that he has no interest in coaching right now. I'm not sure if he meant just in Cleveland, or in general. If NY hired Cowher, GM Mike Tannenbaum would probably be shown the door as well.

Re: Pink slip Monday

I can't see Cowher going to Cleveland simply because of his close relationship with the Rooney family.

From what I've heard Cowher has shown some interest in the Jets.

I don't understand the Cowher lovefest that some people in this forum have (I'm not talking about you 53Fan). The guy is way over rated, I'd hire Jim Schwartz, Spagnuolo or some other assistant before Cowher. A perfect example of a very promising coach is Mike Singletary, not just some retread that won a SB in 14 years.

I guess it's similar to how we don't understand your love fest with Cam Cameron.

At least Cowher has won more than 1 game in his career.

Laugh all you want. I hope one of those teams that fired their coaches hires him (preferably Cleveland) Maybe then you'll become a believer. Name me a coach that was able get the production out of a rookie QB (before you say Matt Ryan, Flacco was an unknown player) got his underachiever WR (Clayton) and old man (Mason) a beat up almost washed RB (Maghee) a rookie RB (Rice) a backup (McLain) and a rebuilt OL to average like 30pts./Game avg. and lead then into the playoffs. They were 3-13 a year ago. Harbaugh couldn't have done this without Cameron as his OC. Flame me all you want but I compare Cameron as good an OC as Gibbs was in his day. As a coach 1 year doesn't warrant him proving anything and getting fired.

There are plenty of good OC's that simply aren't good HC's. Cameron is one of them. I'd be surprised if he even gets an interview for a HC job this offseason.

I wasn't "flaming" you, lighten up. I just thought it was funny that you're not impressed with Cowher "only" winning 1 SB while Cameron only has 1 career win as HC.

Balt. did not average 30 a game. No freakin way. Otherwise all very good points, but admit it..... you have a serious man crush on Cam Cameron.
