McCardell goes to San Diego

Tampa traded him to San Diego for what looks like 2 draft picks a third and seventh rounder. Here is the article.

I actually think SD gave up too much to get him. SD won't even make the playoffs this year and McCardell is like 33 years old. He did have a good season last year but I wouldn't expect anything from him anymore.

A 3rd and a 6th does seem pretty steep.

Not when you consider we gave up a second (we had to trade a 2nd to get Cooley who we could have gotten if we still had our 3rd rounder last year which was traded to get Brunell) to get Brunell at 34 y.o. for a cheap $43 million.

Just so everyone knows, we'd definately be able to keep Smoot next year for the kind of money we shelled out for Brunell.

Think there was a little spite on the part of TB here?

Ok, so you won't play for us this year, so we'll send you out to SD where you can deal with Marty Schottenheimer.

SD is gonna win more games and pay more better than TB would... if it was out of spite, he'll get the last laugh...
