samuels

Is this guy heartless or retarded? I'm serious. he is a 3rd overall pick. he has made probowls. but he always gets beat every game. this last game he made mental errors( blocking the same guy as dockery while his guy goes right through his area) and he got beat by a silly move by a scrub.

i can understand the one sack wilson gave up. he has limited ability but if he plays smart he is good. samuels gets beat by lessor opponents. there is no excuse for him. every game he has mental lapses.

i remember watching an interview wtih him his rookie year, he said one of the line men(sims maybe) was passing out computers in the locker room to keep in touch with the other line men in the offseason. samuels said that that was the first time he had ever used a computer. how do you not use a computer in college? is this guy another dexter manley?

I won't miss Chris Samuels if he goes. He's just living off reputation coming into the pros. He makes the same mistakes he's been making his rookie year and yet somehow he always ends up in Hawaii in February. Then the excuse is always "Chris is really battling out there, he's got a bad ankle (or whatever the ailment) that he's playing on" Well you know what? A lot of people play hurt and if he's perenially hurt all the time is he really worth all this money?

I've actually met Chris Samuels in social settings several times. He seems to be a real loner type. He'll just find a corner, sit down, and drink his beers. If he talks to anyone it's only on his cell phone

I've found that 'using a computer' means different things to different people. For some people, its literal, for others it means the 'internet' (which encompasses email, chat, web surfing to these people). I can definitely see someone never using a computer (in terms of the second definition) in college.

Samuels was never as good as his high draft status made him seem and he is not as bad now as you would make him out to be. With Jansen hurt, he and Randy Thomas are the best and the most consistent offensive lineman the Skins have. With Thomas also out ...

Oh give me a ******* break guys. It amazes me how people like to beat up on Samuels. Pittsburgh was overloading the line and on several plays our beloved superstar Cooley missed key blocks to slow down rushers.

Nothing you can say about Samuels is more truthful than this. If it werent for his cap number, I dont think anyone would be calling for Samuels to be out next year. However, I do agree that he might have to go because of his #, unless he restructures.

Yeah I really don't understand either. It's like now that Brunell is on the bench we need someone else to beat up on. I guess if anyone comes free from the left side people automatically assume it's the LT's fault, when in reality most times it's either the design of the play or a RB or TE is supposed to pick up that block.

I really hope he restructures, quality left tackles aren't easy to find. I think he'll be fine under Bugel. It's not like the entire line is playing great and he's the only one struggling.

So just because he never used a computer before you're equating him to someone who couldn't read??

Believe it or not there's plenty of very intelligent people out there who have never used a computer and never intend to.

i think a new center is what we could use on the Oline... and for jansen to come back so brown can go back to the bench.

We definitely could use an upgrade at center. I thought Raymer was pretty good, but so far he's played like crap.....

Raymer would be best suited in a backup role at this point in his career.

Samuels is not the player we expected him to be, but he is still very good. He does not compare to Ogden now or Jacoby & Lachey from the past. However, he also plays one of the hardest positions in football to fill. So before you cast him aside you better know who you are lining up at LT next year. And switching Jansen to LT is not the answer. You don't take a guy who is great at RT and then just move him to LT and expect things to go smoothly.

I think most of the Redskins offensive problems are that these Redskins do not have the dominating offensive Line that Gibbs old teams had. Gibbs won in the past with decent QB's and RB's combined with dominating offensive line play. The best way to start building that O-Line is by having Jansen & Samuels in that line. This line needs time to meld together not another offseason of shuffling the deck in hopes of drawing out Ace's.

We already have a Samuels thread, but what about Gardner? He had at least 3 drops again yesterday. It's unbelievable how inconsistent this guy is. At the beginning of the season I was all about keeping Gardner and giving him a chance to prove that he can be a legitimate #2. But he simply can't.

Frank Herzog said yesterday that our receivers are too slow and they have a hard time getting seperation from the DB's. And on top of that they drop 50% of the balls thrown at them. I hate to say it, but I tend to agree with his assesment. LC, and Jacobs are the only "speed" guys we have. I wouldn't be against us drafting a big, fast receiver in 2005.

LC is no longer a speed guy, he's MUCH slower than the guy we had pre-injury... he needs the surgery, otherwise he'd really be better off as a #2...
