Post Alfred Morris says he agrees with ESPN.com that he’s not an elite running back

The word elite has become something of a jokey buzzword in the NFL, a standard that few players meet but many are judged by. One cheeky fellow has made it his life mission to determine whether or not Joe Flacco is elite (answer: Weltschmerz), and countless players have been deemed very good or excellent or super swell, if slightly less than elite.

They're all right, he's not. But you don't have to be to run for 1400 yards. That's why RBs don't make much money anymore.

He's a good solid back with whom a team can win. He is a great back for a team with a little defense, a resolved QB situation, and a balanced offense. Elite? No. Very good? Maybe. More than good enough to win with? Absolutely.

He's a piece. On our team we have a bunch of pieces so he can excel. He's not a guy you build your offense around though. If he was even a decent threat to catch the ball out of the backfield it would be a huge help.

Definitely not elite, if he were more of a receiving threat than yeah maybe. It will be very interesting to see what happens with his next contract.

With a Callahan, better starting talent along the online and a power running scheme; doesn't this seem like a perfect fit for a runner who can keep his legs churning and break tackles? Alfmo is in a great situation...jones seems like a great plug in as a 3rd down back. Gruden better run the damn ball, or his ass is gone

I read somewhere that the team is gearing towards being able to win without having to throw for 300 yards. That sounds like a commitment to pounding the rock to me.

Elite in terms of attitude and professionalism. Love this guy. Who cares about those silly titles? Just go play football.

playing the "most resembles" game = stephen davis for me.

hard turn up field runner, goes forward after first contact, usually requires more than 1 guy to bring him down with deceptive speed (imo).
