Article on Lindsey in Post ~ Who Cried

There defiently is no cryin in football!!!

"Lindsey puts tremendous pressure on his players in practice, he said, so that the games won't be as stressful. But Lindsey admits that he can go overboard with his strident manner. After Lindsey joined Norv Turner's Redskins staff in 1997, his militaristic style became almost legendary. The Redskins held training camp in Frostburg, Md., where Lindsey excoriated a rookie linebacker so severely for mistakes that the player began crying on the field. Lindsey confirmed the story but declined to name the player, who is now a ninth-year starter on an NFC team."

Gee could they make this any easier. Derek Smith of the 49rs. Can't wait for that game. Vanilla Ice Cream man and the cry baby return to DC

There is no shame in crying. Hell, I've cried while very angry and couldn't do anything about it.

Re: Article on Lindsey in Post ~ Who Cried

there isn't anything wrong with crying, don't get me wrong about it, i mean, i've cried before, i cried when my grandfather died, i cried when my dog died last year, but as a football player, you are expected to be tough, and if you cry because you think the coach is being too hard on you you don't belong on the field.

Re: Article on Lindsey in Post ~ Who Cried

True story. 4th grade flag football. Semi-finals. I'm having an awful game, getting burned on D, and on offense I'm dropping passes, not getting open. In spite of my ineptitude we're tied with about 3 minutes left in the game

Anyway it's late in the second half and suddenly during a time-out I lose it, I just start bawling right on the field and I'm screaming at everyone. Some psychobabble about no one cares about me and my feelings (WTF? right). I'm yelling at my teammates, the other teammates, my coach, the refs, my parents, other players' parents. Everyone is kind of just standing there like what's this guy's deal.

Anyway, I'm still crying and screaming and the next play they throw to my side and of course the receiver catches it, but I'm so angry I literally rip the ball out of his hands and run it back the other way for the game-winning TD, crying the whole way.

After that, I was all smiles as I was carried off the field in victory...

Then last night I struggled to hold back tears watching Ross and Rachel fight and make up and break up again on a Friends repeat...sigh, those crazy kids

Re: Article on Lindsey in Post ~ Who Cried

hey man, if i was a late round pick or an undrafted rookie, i would cry if i was making mistakes too.

there is alot on the line for these guys. i wish McCune the best, but look at his life and Keaseys and you see whats at stake. keasey will cash a 150k check week one. mccune will be at the unemployment office hoping to make 40k. lets not forget about the dream of playing in the nfl.
