I think this is probably about as realistic as anyone is going to get on this game.

Wake/Suh & co. dominate our O-line, Tannehill has the time of his life v. our secondary... I don't see this one going well.

I'm with you.We gave up the 2nd most sacks in the league last yr and despite drafting an off lineman #1 it doesnt look improved. My gut feeling is the pressure forces Kirk into some turnovers.
Unless Jay shows something on offense that he hasnt shown in preseason this looks like a loss to me.
If I was the coach I would have Kirk running the pistol as much as possible to slow down the Dolphins pass rush and they wont be expecting it.I wouldnt have Kirk run with it as much as RG did in 2012,but he would need to keep it at least a couple times to make it legit.I do not fear injury on his part,he's smarter than Griff and not built like a stick.
If we run the same vanilla offense I think they stuff the run and force Kirk into turnovers

OK -- 2015 team captains:

Offense: Trent Williams (hard to argue with this)
Defense: Dashon Goldson (say wha...? no Kerrigan? DHall? a guy who just got here and may or may not be a solution at that position?)
Teams: Tress Way (sure -- why not)

I know it doesn't really matter, but Goldson seems an off choice.

C'mon, man! Show a little optimism while we still can!

Sacks last year: Many of them were caused by RGIII's inability to operate in the pocket.

OL Not Improved: That may take some time, but Moses looks improved and Scherff is a keeper, so it should get better in time.

Vanilla Offense: Preseason is all about evaluating players, thus the vanilla offense. The major difference in our offense during the regular season will be seeing our big-time playmakers operate. All Kirk needs to do is get the ball into the hands of his playmakers on target and on time.

Yes off line WILL get better but I don't see it happening in this game. Plus we don't have a good tight end to help the running game and I hope our coach is smart enough not to tip the defense off on what we are going to do with our tight ends.
I do not think we can win this game straight up, we need a gimmick, and that would be Kirk (or Colt)running the pistol

hmmm.. this is a tough one:
Redskins 17
Dolphins 14

Cousins 256 yrds 1 TD 1 INT
Alf + MJ combine for 105 yrds 1TD

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

Redskins 35- Dolphins 31

- Cousins helps O-line w quick decisions but has 2 picks, one pick-6
** but he battles back and puts us in play to win at end
- Running game is <50 yards but MJones helps w dump offs
- Amerson / Goldson kill us giving several big plays
- Dline is good but Tannehill gets rid of ball quickly / screens negate pass rush

I predict win, just because I'm a fan. But it will be tough, may have better chances as Breeland comes back and we get stronger mid-season.

If we have less than 50 yards of rushing, Kirk throws a pick 6 and those two give up several big plays the score will be something like 42-10.

I would like to make a prediction, but I can't. I have no idea what this team is going to look like.

It's imperative we keep as much balance as possible.

We're gonna have to keep running the ball and not get discouraged.

Kirk is gonna have to limit his turnovers.

If the stars align I could s

When we've had anyone other than RG3 behind center, that line hasn't been as atrocious as people want to believe. Do they break down, yes but it's not like 5 high school kids out there. Callahan will coach them up.

The secondary on the other hand scares me.

Exactly. And Kirk's been the best at not getting sacked the last few seasons, but maybe that's why he forces passes sometimes. Who knows, but there shouldn't be the same concern about Cousins taking hits and getting hurt, because he seems to be aware of what's going to happen PRE-SNAP and one of his strengths is getting the ball out quickly... sometimes to the wrong team unfortunately. Most young QBs correct that and hopefully he will be one of them.
