NO doubt no f'n doubt in my mind that we can take KC. This game was huge for us, we can play offense. That is right bitches we can play offense. The REDSKINS can play offense with the best of them and still AND STILL have a top ten defense that can hold teams under 300 yards. We go to KC and kick ass, we come home and kick ass and then we face a big game against the gints and we beat them there too. I see us winning atleast two of the next four and moving to a respectable 5-3 and if we win 3 we are 6-2 and tops in our division STILL as long as one of those games is the GINTS.

WE are reborn, we aren't your joe gibbs first year redskins, we are the new redskins, the 2005 playoff redskins
Matty posted a thread stating that he hadn't felt this good after a loss and I concur with him. No need to blame anyone. They will have a lot of film to look at make the neccessary adjustments for the future. This was a nasty game with weather conditions not favoring us. But it definitely showed me that Brunell is for real and has the ability to lead this team far into the playoff picture. Don't count on Moss dropping any easy passes next week.

that's nice and all about the stats that we put up, but the only one i'm interested in is the win-loss stat. i'd much rather take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

o ofcourse i don't care if we look ugly all the way to the superbowl as long as we win but when we do lose to a good team it is more comforting that it came with a good performance

if both springs and harris are out for next weeks game, we definitely need to sign a replacement. kansas city has a great passing attack, one that would embarress ade jimoh to the point where he won't show his face in d.c. again. there is no way in hell that i'd be comfortable with ade jimoh starting next week.

Green has actually been stuggling, the KC passing attack doesn't scare me much this year.

Re: Wow Those Linebackers played so well Today

This loss was very disappointing. The Skins totalling outplayed the Broncos in every way except for on the scoreboard (time of possesion, total yards, third down conversions). The Broncos had two big plays and those were a result of piss-poor tackling and LINEBACKERS being out of position. Something PERSONAL is going on here. There is no rational explanation for Levar Arrington being on the bench. I've yet to see Holdman make an impact play. I've been watching very closely. He sometimes make routine plays, sometimes miss tackles and sometimes runs himself out of the play. I would rather see Arrington making the occational BIG HIT then seeing some guy that MIGHT make a routine play. When Arrington is in on the play, someone is going down HARD and sometimes the ball gets jarred loose. Holdman doesn't have that ability. At best he can bring the man down. The Skins are not creating enough turnovers. On a lousy field with lousy playing conditions, I expect a few balls to be jarred loose. Right now, Sean Taylor is the only big hitter out there. The other guy is on the BENCH! What Hell is going on?

Sorry - have we learned nothing? This is a TEAM game. Haven't we seen how this defense relies on playing the assignment? I would rather have the guy make the routine play - ROUTINELY! Then a guy who makes a spectacular hit one play but blows routine coverages or assignments and allows the other side to make multiple big plays.

Sure LaVar is an incredible talent - but, if he is not playing his assignments, in this defense, he will cost us more big plays than he makes.

How do we know if Levar is playing his assignments. He doesn't even get a chance. I'm not that overly impressed with Holdman that Arrington doesn't even get a shot, at lease on third downs. This is CRAZY!

The point is we don't need to know if he's playing his assignments or not, the only guy that needs to know is Gregg Williams, and he obviously doesn't like what he's seen from LaVar in practice.

Because he has a history of freelancing (remember Marvin Lewis? Seems LA had the same problems playing for him). Because GW has said "you play like you practice". Because (according to an earlier post on this thread) LA is not playing his assignments in practice.

I have yet to see a replay where anyone pointed out that Holdman was out of position. I have yet to hear ANYONE on the Skins even reference Holdman as being out of place. Clearly Holdman is not flashy - just consistent. I'll take that any day of the week.

It is also interesting to note. I personally, have not heard, or read of anyone on the skins (or close to ) team even remotely (or anonymously) imply or dispute that GW's decision regarding lavar is improper, incorrect, or personally motivated in any way. LA is a talent, and will no-doubt rise to fame in GW's system. He apparently needs to apply himself to Gregs system. GW is a Jedi-master D-guy. There is no ground argument to be made

Re: Wow Those Linebackers played so well Today

I've pretty much stayed away from the LaVar threads, for the most part, but for him to ride the pine for an entire game raises some doubts in my mind. I really think it has more to do with him not being able to play within the scheme. What's that reason?? I don't know.

I just find it hard to believe that LaVar Arrington is so incapable of picking up GWs system that he sits for an entire game, and plays sparingly in the other three. Yeah he freelances, yeah the system requires discipline and knowledge of schemes, but this man has been in the league for some years now and he most certainly has down the most rudimentary elements of playing linebacker at the NFL level. Hiis freelancing, IMO, couldn't have cost us anymore than the two big runs we gave up yesterday.

Do I trust that GW knows what he's doing - absolutely! Just like eveyone else here, I have no idea what's going on, other than what GW has said, and why he isn't seeing any playing time at all. And truthfully, it doesn't bother me a whole lot either.

I'm just curious as to what element Lavar could add to this defense.

Re: Wow Those Linebackers played so well Today

I think that with Springs and Harris out, Williams was just not able to cover for Lavar. What I mean is that if Lavar is allowed to freelance a little, it wouldn't be so bad if our cover corners were in there. With our safteys having to play back and help in the passing game, we just didn't have a place for a guy like Lavar yesterday.

It sounds like Lavar is close, so maybe we get Harris and Springs back for KC and Williams can bring in Lavar more (not just 3rd and long).
