Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
I'm looking forward to seeing Matt Jones in year 2. He has some issues to clean up but he seems like the type of kid who gets it and works hard to improve.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
Agree with you, Matty. In general, I'm very excited to see what all of last year's rookie class looks like in year 2. It's natural to imagine the impact of the incoming rookies, but the biggest jump occurs in the player's second year.
Scherff. Like a snowplow. Can't wait to see what he looks like in 2016.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
Running Back situation very easily could be the TE situation of last year.
Hopefully Matt Jones can explode like Reed....and stay healthy. One thing Alfmo brought was durability, that can be big in the RB game

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
marshall is a track star in pads. his instincts aren't good. his speed is crazy, but there's a reason he was around in the 7th, he's got a lot of work to do on his vision/mental game to be a really effective RB. he will help on teams though.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
debth wise I'd say its the best redskins team we've had in years, maybe 20 years

I wonder if there is an option to move a guy for a pick or potential need position like RB or DL in the preseason? I wouldn't think its out of the question.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
I try to not get too carried away by my fan side but I think we have a special draft class this time. Every single one of these draftees has traits that the coaches can build on to produce a solid contributor. I'm very excited about this class.
The only big risk was drafting Kendall Fuller but, if he can recover fully from his injury, he'll put this draft class through the roof, IMHO.

Notable NFL Players on the Offseason Roster Bubble | Spotrac Research
Great article here on possible pending free agents as cuts. And you know who I would get a boner for if he decided to play one more year... Marshawn Lynch SEA $11,500,000 Traded/Cut Pre 6/1: $5M in 2016 dead cap ($6.5M savings) Traded/Cut Post 6/1: $2.5M in 2016 dead cap ($9M savings), $2.5M in 2017 dead cap Lynch still hasn't officially signed his retirement papers, but the Seahawks are reportedly ready to place him on the reserve/retired list in the next few weeks. They'll clear $6.5M in cap by doing so. Folks, I like P Thomas but there could be better options...Kniles Davis or Sproles? Im def interested more in them over Pierre.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
Darren Sproles could help us as a 3rd down back and punt returner. A one or two year contract would be fine. We really need to find a decent PR as this is an area where we suck.

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
Skins were 19th in pass plays called percentage wise last year at 58.65%
Skins were 20th in pass attempts last year at 35.4 per game Skins were 6th in 1st down pass attempts last year at 65.8% so no, I don't think he was pass focused, but I do think stats show he's willing to use passing on first down in lieu of the run. Maybe that's what you are calling pass focused? |

Re: How much have we improved player personnel?
