After reading this, I totally forgot they have Sammy Watkins... Argh.

He's nasty when he's not hurt, and people like that typically just own us for some reason.

The offenses that kill us are the ones with athletic TEs. The Rams don't have one.

I don't think their offensive line is terrific - I think we can get to Goff enough.

Meanwhile, their pass rush is ferocious but I like our offensive line to bounce back just enough.

I think so as well, seems like the O line is a patched up unit this season. Their RT Havenstein (3 year pro, 2nd rounder) is from Mt Airy, Maryland but played for Wisconsin. Seems like a decent young RT.

LT Andrew Whitworth is 35, juts signed a 3 yr 35 M contract.

C John Sullivan. Yes, that John Sullivan who we brought out of retirement last year.

Gs -- Rodger Saffold and Jamon Brown. Both are relatively young and 2-3 round draft picks.

I read that Brown was taking all the preseason snaps at RT but it appears Havenstein is playing RT.

-------------------

Attack the right side. If Kerrigan cant force McVay to give help/slide pass pro to the right, then overload the right .... force this newly together O line unit to have to communicate, make decisions. Good thing it appeared Munasky and Tomsula are aggressive up front.

If I'm the Rams, I'm lining up Aaron Donald on Lauvao/Long and letting him wreak havoc. It will be close but it all depends on turnovers. Really not sure how good their o-line is but if they can control the LOS it will be a long day. Should be a good test for our defense. Hopefully Gruden goes easy on the 3 wides and keeps some help on the o-line, if we do that our odds improve. Just don't ask Jordan Reed to stay in to block lol.

Reed is literally the softest TE in the NFL when it comes to blocking someone. It's just painful to watch.

I'm going to go back and look at the film of Kelleys runs again I think, and post what I'm seeing. I don't know blocking schemes, so I don't know who's doing their job and who's not unless it's obvious. But I can tell how to follow a block, and when I rewatched the whole game Monday, Most his runs seemed to me to end with him choosing the wrong cut. I'll take screen shots and see what you all think.

I think it's a balancing act between the line and the back, part of it requires good blocking and part of requires the back having good vision. I haven't seen anything out of Kelley so far that makes me think he has good vision to turn no-gains into decent ones, but then again the blocking hasn't been great either. I'm interested to see what you turn up, but I really haven't seen anything out of Kelley that makes me think he's more than just a guy. His intangibles might be great, he's obviously got a better work ethic than Matt Jones, but I think his athletic ability is limited. He'll never out run anybody and he's not Marshawn Lynch when it comes to breaking tackles.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame & predictions

Josh Doctson (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Coach Jay Gruden said Doctson was experience "tightness" Wednesday. It's the same issue that troubled Doctson in the preseason, though it's unclear if it's the same leg. Doctson being unable to get to or stay at 100 percent has become a far too common occurrence. He ran as the No. 4 receiver in the Week 1 loss and isn't going to pass Ryan Grant if he can't even practice.

Bust central.

A recent picture of Doctson.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame & predictions

So I went back to look at Kelleys runs, and I will admit that there were at least two plays he had no chance, but that's going to happen to every RB and a starter makes the most of the opportunities they do get. So I will show three plays that I think he could've made a better read and cut the other direction.

So here we go

Yellow is where he should have gone . . . Look at the red jerseys and daylight.

Instead...

Re: Skins v Rams pregame & predictions

Next on this outside run he could have either bounced it outside where there was a blocker and one defender to beat . . .

Or . . . Take your chances with 3 unblocked players . . .
