Exactly. trump will go after the NFL becuase it keeps his name in the paper and it doesn't mention russia .He thinks if he insults the rich (mostly black) NFL players the trump cult will grow bigger and forget he sold out his country and his soul to putin.

There is a train of thought out there about Trump on this issue. Theory is Trump has a serious axe to grind against the NFL. Especially the owners. Seems Trump made a bid to buy the Buffalo Bills in 2014 and the owners 'blackballed' him by not approving the sale. Thoughts are he did not like being prevented from joining that elite fraternity of NFL owners. No matter what the league did here, Trump would find fault in it.

No , he was "blackballed" along time before that .

The 1985 USFL championship game was held at Giants Stadium, home of the New Jersey Generals, who were owned by future presidential candidate Donald Trump. And it was Trump's strategy for the league that is widely considered to have led to its demise.Jul 14, 2015

For The Last Time: NFL Ratings Are Not Down. They're Up, Compared To Everything Else

Interesting point here, I think Netflix, YouTube, and cord cutters in general are taking their toll across the board when it comes to ratings. To single out the NFL just isn't looking at the big picture.

Conveniently leaves out a big stat here...while trying to apple and orange products. What’s the biggest comparable product to the NFL not included?

College Football....and the fact ratings are way up. If Coke sales dropped 15%(huge in the marketplace...NFL yuge) wouldn’t you look at Diet Coke sales?

Also I like how he admits nfl ratings are down but. Streaming has affected tv watching for years...but the nfl before that protest had bucked it.

The protests have certainly affected viewership and the slip in ratings and merchandise are evident to nfl and tv executives.

Not sure if that is true about college football here was last seasons viewership. Overall it was down but the jump at Fox makes me question whether it was a significant downward trend.

This rings true... The only reason I have DirecTV (what a trash service by the way. It's slow, changing channels takes forever, the DVR strokes out fairly often but I have to use it to get the Redskins because the NFL is still living in the 1980s. If they want to keep people engaged, they need to make their product easier to consume especially with an increasingly transient population.

There is a streaming service - but they won't sell you the Sunday Ticket Stream if you can get a dish at your location. It's really quite frustrating and the blame for it is 100% on the NFL by giving exclusivity contracts.

Yeah as really need to be in the trying to win back viewers and win back respect most of all.
Think the NFL needed to suspend the player or players that kneel down and deck money from their check books/pay.
To teach them a huge lessons. Yes is is chump change. But put politics out of the game. Want to watch the game. Not see a political rally.

"To teach them a huge lessons"? Wait one cotton pickin minute!
Them boys got too much money. Too bad we can't teach them a huge lessons like my grand pappy used to back in the good ole days.
/s

If you don't want politics in the game, reach out to FOX and demand that they don't acknowledge the protest during the broadcast and don't attend the first 3 minutes of the game.

Mostly white billionaires "punishing" black millionaires isn't the publicity/politics the NFL needs.
NFL owners need to support their current and former players by working with the players on an anthem resolution and also paying out CTE settlements.

The anthem is pretty much run its course but if the owners draw a hard line in the sand, players are going to cross it.

Let them protest or be social justice warriors on their own time. They are getting paid while representing the NFL and their team while in uniform. What would happen if a Denny's waitress wore an "I love Trump" button or her uniform while at work? She gets fired and walked out the second her boss sees it. What the protesting players are doing is no different. Amazing how the players are allowed to get away with something well over 1/2 the population disapproves of.
There is no freedom of speech while in the work place.

Re: NFL Anthem Policy

MTK is right , why do two players get the attention when 2160 did what they were suppose to?

Jerry Jones told you why in the court testimony. He said that Trump told him "This is a very winning, strong issue for me," Jones said. "Tell everybody, you can't win this one. This one lifts me."

He's going to use it to rally his base, and stick it to the NFL for denying him a franchise. If NFL owners were smart (and they aren't), they would get together and tell him to knock it off or else they'll pool their money together and donate 100+ million towards Democrats in the next election. Money talks and that kind of money would move mountains in Congress.

I find it hilarious these dipshits donated to his campaign and inauguration and he turned around and fucked them. LOL
