I was pretty surprised to see Settle and Hood only got snaps on special teams.

I know they rotate the big guys more in the nickel, but wow. I really thought there would be more from the bench.
Eh, it's a bit surprising but not something I necessarily disagree with. The Bama boys were feasting so you gotta leave em in there.

Plus it seemed we were only running 2 down linemen for a lot of the game with our OLB's on the edges. And that led to Matt I. sitting out a few more snaps than we'd prefer to see. Whenever we'd go traditional 3 down he was in there.

But with that logic (only having 2 linemen for a majority of plays) Settle and Hood just get pushed down the line even further than if we ran 3.

Our Defensive Line depth really is a strength this year. I can't believe just HOW night and day it is from last year and even more so than 2 years ago. Amazing.

Montae has a bad tackle grade right now, but his coverage has been pretty good so far. Honestly for a 4th rd guy he's been what we needed him to be

What I've noticed with Norman is that he often tries to punch the ball out instead of making the tackle.

Norman has never been a big INT guy, his career high is 4. Only 10 total for his career. Part of it is his hands suck and second as a top corner you don't get many balls coming your way. He makes up for it by forcing fumbles at least. We can opt out of his contract after this year, the guaranteed money on his deal is $50M. I don't have a problem with his deal.

Norman played great his first year, got injured last year (still played fine) and we'll see about this year. I've been satisfied with his play but wouldn't be surprised to see his contract renegotiated after the year. I think he's committed to our team and knows he's at the tail end of his career. He'll renegotiate and stay another 3 years or so.

Other than his play though, I've been MORE than satisfied with the energy he brought to our team. Two years ago the defense looked a lot different and he gave us some bite. That seems to have spread throughout the locker room and that's a big bonus that doesn't show up in the stat sheet.

Yea. His attitude is ferocious. . I've never seen a CB take on running backs like he does.

Re: Post game Packers

A good question is WHY Kerrigan gets hooked so much vs others? Is it a technique issue? It seems oline closelining occurs to him far more often that to others. Is Kerrigan actually causing this problem?

Used to happen all the time to Orakpo too, I don’t think it’s an issue exclusive to them, we tend to think it’s just our guys since that’s what we pay attention to
