Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?
Gotta ride with Matty, If we win 5 of our last 6 to get to (10-6) We have a shot. I think we have a better chance of getting in winning the division than getting a wild card birth.
We still have a solid conference record. We can and will get in. It is not how you start it is how you finish. I am a homer but I refuse to believe we will not turn this around and make some noise. We are so close. Keep the faith brothers!!

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?
Let's be honest though, things were pretty bleak with that 3-game slide. I don't think anyone could have envisioned the way this team turned on a dime the way they did. Those wins over the Rams and Cards served as confidence boosters. They reached the absolute peak with the victories over the Cowboys and Giants.
After that, with the slightly less impressive win over the Eagles in the season finale, the loss of Randy Thomas really started to show. Ray Brown was serviceable for a game or so, but it was a bit much to ask him to carry out the rest of the season and into the playoffs without missing a beat. That's why I think one of the keys this offseason is to add quality depth to the O-line. I love the idea of stealing Steve Hutchinson away from Seattle, and putting Dockery in the reserve role. But I doubt that will be possible if we're also trying to get a top-notch wideout opposite Moss. |

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?
At this point I'm hoping for 9-7, that actually wouldn't be a bad thing considering our horrible turnover ratio and general inconsistency on both sides of the ball.

Suppose, just suppose we win the rest of our games. That's right, go undefeated here on out - can we make the playoffs??

And the worst part is, the problems are never the same from week to week. Last week, the O line looked good, and the passing game was working, but the secondary looked horrible. This week, they were great against the run, but the O line looked horrendous, and they couldn't get anything going offensively. It's like they patch one hole, and spring another leak the very next game. Good teams overcome their deficiencies, while Washington has theirs exposed week in and week out. |

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?
YES WE HAVE A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
We were supposed to win 1 out of Tampa and Eagles, 3 of the next 4 and 2 of the last 3 division games. WE DID WIN 1 out of tampa and ealges and we have lost one but if we win our next three we are money and back on track, had we won the raiders and lost to the chargers the season wouldn't be over! ITS NOT OVER! until we lose two more no way i bend over and take it. who knows giants playing the seahawks at seahawks, and dallas playing denver we could be only one game behind. the next week giants and dallas play each other and one has to lose,so i am told, and we might be tied with one of them sons a bitches, we are going for the division and not stopping till we get there. |

Re: Playoff Hopes Dead?
Gibbs and Co can start placing orders for wide screens to watch the playoffs. After today's loss I really don't see a realistic chance of getting in as a wild card.
