Re: Commanders Training Camp 2024

I think Bryant is more than just a camp body/depth guy, it's a clear signal something is up in the WR room. Dotson playing considerably more snaps than anyone else against the Jets is another clue. His seat may not be hot but it's warming up.

Could the FO have been showcasing Dotson in the Jets game?

Or they're just trying to figure out how he fits in this offense... reportedly Kingsbury favors big WRs or speed guys... Dotson really isn't either one. I'd still be surprised if he isn't on the week 1 roster.

He's plenty fast he's just not a burner that you always have to worry about taking the top off a defense.

Ouch, Quinn just confirmed that the team is still figuring out who is the #2 WR.

This team sucked last year. Aside from a few players (JD, Terry, Allen/Payne) no one is a lock.

I felt like they should have tried to keep Samuel. Especially if you are bringing in a guy who hasn't played since 2018.

WR is probably one of the last position groups I'm concerned about this year.

Re: Commanders Training Camp 2024

I think I read or heard something about Quinn being unhappy with Dotson failing to build up his body during the offseason because Dotson is supposedly knocked off balance by stronger CBs and thereby unable to make some catches. Is that a fact or am I just geezing again?

Could be partly that, but based on what DQ has said recently it seems to be more about trying to light a fire under Dotson's ass to hustle more and the importance of what he's doing away from the ball. Sounds like it's an effort thing.

Speaking of

Good video on JD5 MIA game and also lowlighting Dotson's effort/skill

Re: Commanders Training Camp 2024

well, this staff didn't pick dotson and they don't owe him anything, but it'd be sad to throw away yet another pick.

Hoping we sign a kicker. I imagine not getting a #1 CB is just going to be a thing the team has to deal with this year (can't fix everything). And while the OL hasn't looked bad, it's vanilla preseason and I'm not sure yet. JD not holding the ball as long (as SH) is probably going to make a difference though.
