Bugel is already the assistant HC - offense, so I think they had to get creative in making a title for Saunders that would put him above Bugel, but without "demoting" Bugel.

I wouldn't read into it, but that's just my opinion.

When he was asked about the Personel on the team he talked about Brunell have his best year and a first round draft pick with a lot of tools, no mention of Ramsey at all. I think that is very telling. I am really looking forward to March first to see who we add to this team.

The Redskins probably wouldn't be fooling anyone. But shouldn't they at least act like Ramsey is still a part of their plans? That they're at least considering the option of him being their QB. If nothing else, it gives the impression that if other teams want him they'll have to pry him away from us. Not that we'll just hand him out to the first bidder.

Perhaps they already have a deal worked out in principle for a trade to another team.

I guess I don't think they can do that b/c Gibbs isn't going to lie to Ramsey. Gibbs has been pretty clear that he would like Ramsey to stay to give Gibbs depth but that he doesn't trust him to start yet. With the drafting of Campbell, any thought that Ramsey might stay went out the window.

Despite what Offiss (and other Ramsey fans) think, he has been gone for some time. Even if he stays this year, it is to hold the clipboard. He would likely be the number 2 and provide great depth, but no way he starts unless Brunell goes down. Next year he is an UFA, so this is the year to trade him and get something. Hopefully a third but maybe not even that much.

If Ramsey tells Gibbs, I want to play here next year even as a back up - then MAYBE, just maybe he stays. But if Ramsey can't accept that he is not in competition for the number 1 spot, then he will be traded for whatever we can get.

i think alot of us are reading into something that may be nothing at all.if ramsey cannot get fair market value for a former #1 pick,he will be staying, plain and simple.he is familar with the redskins and at the very least a quality back up.the skins arent going to give him away

Re: Al Saunders Press Conference

The question, however, is "What is fair value?" After four years, being a "former No.1 pick" does not in and of itself carry much value (e.g. Koren Robinson, Rod Gardner). He is a QB with starting experience and a potential upside, so yes, I agree he has value.

Also, I think that a lot depends on what he wants to do. If he does not want to be here, or more accurately, wants to be somewhere else where he has a legitimate shot at starting - Gibbs will honor the request. In which case, Gibbs will get the best deal he can for him and send him on his way.

If Ramsey wants to stay, he will stay (for the reasons you mentioned). If he wants to go AND the Skins can get something more than a 6th rounder for him - he will go.

That's also the same reason teams might not be willing to give up a high pick. He's an unknown commodity at this point.

Yup, I'd say a late second or early third.

Did you see the Redskin family tree. Quite confusing.

Re: Al Saunders Press Conference

Actually, the family tree looks less confusing when it's laid out like that...

The main thing is that everyone gets along and feels comfortable that they have input and respect. And Gibbs will assure that this happens.

As for PR, my guess is that Ramsey will ASK Gibbs to let him explore a trade. Because PR has been a real pro about being demoted, Gibbs will let that happen, and try to get what he can--a mid round pick, IMO. Ramsey, reasonably, wants a shot at starting somehwere, and Gibbs is going to try to allow that to happen.

I wonder what Quality Control Coordinator does? Is that black or cream and sugar?
On another note, you have to hope PR gets a shot (and I believe he will) to start on another team. He's a good dude. As you said JW, he learned to swallow his pride this season and press on! That ain't always easy

I also read somewhere, maybe a year back or so, that the QCC makes up DVDs for the players to take home and study film on the other team. This guy is the high-tech guy who does all of the computer work so that the players can have an easier time getting prepared for the opponet.
