Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
stallworth is much better than anything they've got, and his 945 yards came on the other end of Aaron Brooks. McNabb is ever-so-slightly better.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
I've said this before and I'll say it again: Reggie Brown had two good games against us last year (171yrds and 3TDs total). While those aren't the biggest numbers, they were enough to make both games nail-biters. He's the only receiver on their team that concerns me at all. Now, Stallworth will help stretch the field. I'm hoping that Brown has a nice big sophomore slump that lasts a few seasons.
Damnit, I don't like the idea that philly's not a pushover.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Donte will need to develop some timing with McNabb early on, but it won't take him long. I just drafted him Sunday in my Fantasy football league thinking he would be a Saint. Now I am loving him being an Eagle, but absolutely HATING him because I am a Redskins fan. So what is the Depth Chart for WR now in Philly? Brown #1, Stallworth #2, or is Stallworth the #1, because of his experience?

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Not sure where all of this injury talk is coming from. Stallworth has missed one game in that past two seasons for injury. I'd like to think he's not that good of a receiver because now he's an Eagle, but if I'm being honest with myself this move is a great move for the Eagles. If Stallworth was a Skin, he'd be our second best WR. Sure, the Eagles still don't have a marque #1WR........but Brown, Stallworth, Baskett is a heck of a lot better than Brown, Baskett, and anyone else they have (Lewis/Gaffney/Bloom/Avant/Pinkston). They've addressed their biggest need with a great trade and gave up essentially nothing (Simoneau sucks and who cares about a 4th round pick).

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
I'm not worried... we carried TO the whole time he was in Philly, and TO is better than Stallworth. I usually have total faith in our corners, and furthermore, we have one of the league's best defense. My only concern is if the offense is gonna leave the defense hanging this year... again....

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Matty, I agree with you, Donte will have a big year for the Eagles, but he had a big day yesterday against a BAD team. Let's see how his numbers go against NFC East opponents. Everyone will be on the Eagle band wagon early this year because their schedule in Sept is easy.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Listen - good game against a bad team, I don't buy it. This kid is pretty damn good. Sure they blew like one coverage, and even when they were draped all over him, he still plucked the ball out of the air.
No, he's not T.O., but yes he's a legitimate threat. |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Don't get me wrong he's a good pickup for them considering what they had for WRs. Does he scare me? No. He's still a downgrade from TO talent-wise.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
I think he'll have a pretty good year. I used to think McNabb was really overrated, but I've changed my opinion of him the last couple years. He makes everyone around him better by scrambling around and running, etc. I really hate the eagles though.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Yeah, sorry to pound my chest like that. I live in Philly and hence know the Eagles better than any team not named the Redskins. I heard lots of stuff about their training camp progress and stuff. And a whole bunch of blabity blah from my Philly-fan friends about how the Eagles were going to come back and kill the 'Skins, etcetera.
I said I don't know about killing the 'Skins, but I do think the Eagles were ready to bounce back pretty well, they've got all their pieces back and healthy.
