What do you guys think?
To most of the NFL, the Redskins are that bad also. Its the How Have You Played Lately syndrome.

However the Texans are the team that we played today and on the whole our team played well.

Next week is another team and a new set of challenges to face.

Right now I'm enjoying a long awaited victory. Well done team!

Cripes! How about Portis is THAT good. Houston has a terrible Defense. The entire world knows that but the 'Skins simply pounded the ball with an aggressive Clinton Portis running the ball. He would have gone for over 200 yards if they had let him in the game (maybe). We played excellent on both sides of the ball, despite the 12 penalties.

I still feel the play calling was conservative, and we got really really lucky with the fumble, and the personal foul call, or it would have been an 8 pt game with time left. Secondary still looks terrible. We still need to open it up, with some deep play, otherwise we will NOT have a good time at JAX. Also do not expect Brunell to get that much time again to throw with the Jags front line.

But Hoo, you have to look at as a building block. No doubt, this offense took a step forward this week. That's the underlying moral story here.

Re: Houston is THAT bad...

seems the game plan was tweaked to keep MB in the pocket less w/ quick throws. So they executed the game plan. If he was supposed to look deep, he didn't, that's all that worries me.
I expect to see some max protect v. J'ville. We'll have to beat them in the air, they're gonna stack the box w/8.
This game has a couple subplots; MB & Wright vs. old team & Leftwich cimin hime.

We definitely need to get rid of the penalties. That is a huge issue with us. Also, I think Portis returning had a big effect on the offense.

Re: Houston is THAT bad...

yeah they are very bad. it seemed like our RBs would gain 5-6 yards before they were even touched. it's a good confidence booster at least. we'll see how they hang with jacksonville next week.

Re: Houston is THAT bad...

in the first half brunell through every ball less than 10yards down the field, he was 24/27 in think but they were short passes, still hasnt fixed our downfield problems, next week we play jacksonville, that will be the real test........

I don't think we'll be able to play that kind of football and beat Jacksonville. It worked today because the Texans are inept. The short passing game was good for Brunell's confidence, we got a win, and JG does not have to listen to the bench Brunell stuff for a whole week. So, he's off the hook at least for this week, but I just don't think dinking and dunkin will get it done next week. Glad we got a win, will take them any way I can get them.
