So guys, when does next season start? I think we'll see a qb switch over the bye week. That and a linebacker switch. Possibly a db switch too.

A db switch? To who? Everyone is either hurt or has been hurt. Our issue isn;t the play of the guys we got. It's the NOT playing of the guys we got.

There is absolutely no reason to leave in Brunell or Holdman. If anybody thinks Brunell gives us the best chance to win now, they are just stupid. Not that that matters now anyway, because we're not going to make the playoffs. Holdman isn't doing anything either. It's time to plan for the future.

Re: 2-5 at the bye: time to make changes

It's obvious to everyone but Joe that Campbell needs to replace Dr. Dumpoff at QB. We KNOW what Brunell can do and it's not enough, let's find out if Campbell can get it done. Getting our starting secondary back should help, I'm not opposed to replacing Holdman (who missed 5 tackles easily today) with McIntosh. We need to find out what we have on the roster and if we can win with them. We aren't getting it done with who is on the field, let's shake things up and see what else we have!

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: 2-5 at the bye: time to make changes

I think there is a case to be made for seeing what Campbell is capable of doing. I don't think it's likely to happen, but I think the talk is understandable. I'm a little curious myself.

I don't believe that Campbell will make things better. I think it's far more likely that in the short term he would make things worse. (I know it doesn't seem possible but believe me it is.) I guess when you are 2 -5 it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

Other areas that are causing us problems and seemed to be overlooked when everyone obsesses about Brunell:

1. Clinton Portis is and has not been healthy.

2. Our Offensive Line is playing like shit. They don't seem to have bought in to the Saunders thing at all.

3. Our defense is now below average. Anyone whe remembers the names Ron Lynn or Mike Nolan will know how hard it is to win games when you have a defense ranked in the 20s. I don't see how they get better this year, either.

4. Special teams is hit and miss. I'm surprised that there haven't been calls to can Danny Smith but I may have missed them.

One more thing. After hearing Steve Csaban disrespect Gibbs tonight, I'm going to make jamming him my life's calling. If Comcast chooses to keep him on the air, I will add them to the list. What a f__ing asshole.

The way I figure, we'll either lose with Brunell's 90.8 QB rating, or Jason Campbell throwing 4 or 5 picks a game.

We lose either way. Might as well be Campbell getting the experience he needs rather than put it off next year.

I think my fear is that we''ll find out that Campbell is Heath Schuler and then they will have to call in the White Coats. (for me) (to take me to the insane asylum) I'd feel better about it if there were some rumblings from the team in favor of Campbell, but I don't get that sense. Anyone?

If Campbell fails miserably, then it will be another black eye for Gibbs, who paid a very high price to pick him at No. 25. Part of me says we should use our Top 5 pick next year on a franchise QB. The whole thing's a complete mess. We're one game better than the Raiders and Cardinals. Wow.

He is making too many mistakes, that is why he is not playing in front of Warrick Holdman, the defense is already not getting it done, putting in Rocky would just be further embarrassment

Gibbs is going to stick with Brunell. It's hard to believe, but he just can't seem to put that old dog down. No offense to Brunell. He's had a darn good career, but he needs to retire.

Re: 2-5 at the bye: time to make changes

Did anyone catch Gibbs' postgame comments where he said that he didn't even "want to think about [starting Campbell]" and that Brunell played great? Looks like we're going to head into next season with no answers about the QB situation because Gibbs is NEVER going to give up on Brunell.

Re: 2-5 at the bye: time to make changes

This is where Gibbs the Team President needs to exercise a veto over Gibbs the Head Coach.

Coach Gibbs wouldn't want to bench Brunell because of the message it sends to the team. But somebody in the organization needs to be thinking long term, and it should be the team president. If Gibbs doesn't make the switch, he'll be doing the team a huge disservice in the long run.
