The first part may be true, but the second part about him being the dirtiest is a load of hooey, notwithstanding you backing it up with the ever-persuasive "(fact)" argument. Roy Williams is the dirtiest, hands down.

Unless you have a statistic or some data to back that statement up it's purely an opinion. Just saying something is a fact doesn't make it so. (fact)

Ha.

#2 Betts is a very good back who could start for a lot of teams, but as long as he is careless with the football I'd prefer to see him remain a change-of-pace back. His fumble resulted in a 6-10 point swing.

#3 Andre Carter has been playing like a pass rushing stud for over a month now. Carter has racked up 4 sacks and a heckuva lot of pressures and tackles in the last 5 games. If only he were 15 pounds heavier and stouter against the run.

#4 Those who booed Mark Brunell's appearance on the field are classless. I'm ashamed to be lumped in together with them as a Redskins fan.

#5 Jason Campbell looks pretty solid. He is as elusive as any QB not named Michael Vick or Donovan McNabb. How many tackles did he shed to gain yards when pressure forced him out of the pocket? Moreover, he is as good at play-action and pump-fakes as any QB I've seen in the league.
There, fixed #1 for ya.

And I solidly agree on #4. That was disgusting and classless.

As for my thoughts, well i don't have much. The defense blows unlike anything i have ever seen. They blow epic proportions. If Gregg Williams doesn't learn something from this, then maybe it's time to find someone else to fix the defense.

Also, I really, really, cannot emphasize this enough, do not want to see us go out in free agency and spend spend spend and fail to produce results. I am sick and tired of us being the laughingstock of the NFL during the spring. Gibbs needs to start building through the draft. That also cannot be emphasized enough. We're not playing to win a Superbowl now, we're back to square 1, and it's time to start rebuilding.

One more thing, I like Ladell Betts and all, but he needs to learn how to hang onto the ball. I'm gonna be glad to see Portis back there next year.

But how are we supposed to build through the draft with only one pick in the first three rounds? I agree with you--but this team's player personnel philosophy obviously does not value the draft. They prefer the FA approach--and I expect them to fire up Redskin One the first day of free agency...

We are not going to be able to fix every part of this defense over the offense but we can, at least, make some improvements so that they will not look as bad as they did this year. Maybe we can get by with the improvements and the offense that seems as if it is going to be a pretty good one and we can work on the rest of the defense during the next off season.

I really don't think its that bad...just too many injuries, if we can pick up an MLB and a corner we're straight...and depth on the D line

Trust me, injuries were not our problem this year. Sure we had some key guys go down this year, but you know what, someone will go down next year too. We have to get beyond that.

I agree with everything that was written here especially the part about our classless fans who attended the game. The sad part about that is most of them will be on this forum tonight or tomorrow pretending to be Redskins fans....I say "pretending" because if they were real Redskins fans they would root for anyone who is in any game at anytime

I don't agree with that as an absolute statement - there would always be exceptions. MB, however, is about as far from one of those exceptions as you can get. Say what you want about his skills, but he has been nothing but a core Redskin since the day he got here.

That said, I was at the game and I cheered for MB. My wife asked why people were booing, and I told her that they were just being classless. It was embarrassing.

Re: Redskins-Giants Postgame Thoughts

Next year...I'm excited on offense - lets integrate the remaining 80% (or whatever's left) of Saunders' playbook, and let JC develop better timing with receivers like Moss and ARE.

On defense, I'm less hopeful (especially if Springs is not back). We have Sean Taylor playing like a cunt right now, not surprising that he's so demorialized given the stellar supporting cast we have in the secondary. I'd like to see them shed the redtape on the defensive coaching staff (especially shedding the baggage with all the conflicting secondary coaches). Bring in Nate Clements, and sign a free agent DT, and sign/draft a linebacker.

Defense - Nowhere to go but up, right? Also, Tiki won't be playing next year. Why in the world has he absolutely torched us the past 3-5 years? IMO, he's not that great.

JC - He played well. Solid game to end the season with. 2TDs, 68% completion, 220yds, 1int.

Betts - I believe tonight he showed once again why he is no Portis-replacer.
Santana - Can he play the deep ball or what?

REL - Solid game.

Sellers - Nice short yardage running.

Yet he was last night. The Skins played a good game all they need to do is develope their younger players, which is something the Giants need to do .

Re: Redskins-Giants Postgame Thoughts

The defense needs a complete overhaul. We need a DT, DE, MLB, FS and a corner. But since you can't get rid of everyone then I would start with either a DT or DE and then a MLB. You have no chance to win in the NFL when you keep getting gashed on the run.
