How often do you Snyder's name in the media cast in a positive light? What has he done, other than try to build a Superbowl Skins team (albeit stupidly at times)?????? IMO, he's not particularly likeable, maybe that's it. I find many people that way. They don't own NFL teams

I really don't want to hear the "preseason means nothing" argument next season. We played like crap in the preseason this year, and played like crap all season long.

This season, the preseason was a perfect, nearly 100% accurate measurement of how we looked all season long.

Yeah, expectations were probably way too high.

Still, that's a lot of "L"s that have been added to his Win-Loss column. And it's the way he's been losing -- sometimes, this team looks downright incompetent.

I guess we should have expected some potholes along the way. But not to this extent.

Well, nobody expected our defense to regress as much as it has....but I also believe that if we had not changed our offense (which apparently was much more of a change than what we all realized) that we would've probably made the playoffs again. We have more to look forward to than to dread, IMO.

I wish I could share your optimism (seriously). To me, the fact that 3 three years in to his five year deal we are sitting here discussing Gibbs's various losing streaks and how if this or that had/hadn't happened we wouldn't have missed the playoffs again should be a big-time red flag.

Re: Something I never want to hear again:

If Gibbs had never went back to coaching, would we have even talked about making the playoffs last season and having such high expectations now? I still say for a man to have been away from coaching the NFL for what...11 years...to come back and coach a team to the playoffs his second year back is a great accomplishment. Let's face it...we all want this franchise to be winning now, but winning as much as the Patriots are doing. That type of expectation does not happen overnight. I guess we have to look at it this way......if it takes Gibbs 4 or 5 seasons to turn this team into a consistent winner, year after year...isn't that more valuable than to have one great year and another 15+ losing seasons?

Re: Something I never want to hear again:

come on people, are you kidding?? The Redskins stink!! And basically have for 10 or more years. Do you recall the other lower rank teams in the NFL getting some media coverage when they stink. NO. Just because they are the Redskins doesn't entitle them to more TV or print news than anyone else. The only story that gets written about is how much we spend every year and how ridiculous we are for overpaying. Look at it this way, We get the most media coverage in the history of the NFL during the offseason. NO ONE even comes close to the coverage we get when free agency starts to the beginning of preseason. When we consistantly win, not just one season, but 3 or 4 seasons in a row maybe then we'll get some TV time. It took the Bengals a few years for the media to believe they were winning games, or Seattle before they were concidered a good team. Hey for the 1st couple of years it was because they were in a weak division. It took a super bowl for people to take them serious.
