Re: Perspective from Denver

Does anyone really care what a reporter from an AFC city that's half way across the country has to say?

"Oh no! A backup from Around The Horn is trying to pile on to a story that people have been talking about for years now. That really hurts."

I don't know, I seem to remember lots of people "caring" about what the experts had to say about the preseason predictions for the Redskins and how they'd finish in the NFC East.

Something tells me if they were to heap us with praise we'd care then. But this organization gives them no reason to do that.

Re: Perspective from Denver

Who sits the bench if we sign Nate?

I saw Springs shut down Steve Smith when healthy. Springs has been pro-bowl caliber as a Redskin and I've seen every snap of every game. Carlos Rogers may have to hit the bench. He dropped that ball against the Seahawks that screwed us big time. That play has been his M.O. ever since. That guy should have like 15 picks.....

What about moving Springs to Free Safety and Rogers and Nate on the corners w/ ST moving to strong??

Use our # 6 pick on Lamar Woodly in the middle or a stud DLineman.

Keep Washington on the outside and let Marshall and Rocky fight it out for the other corner.

Not bad!!

Lamar woodley no way man branch or adams and springs would either move to safety or get cut

Can't argue too much w/them, but the funny thing to me is that this writer is in Denver, which along w/the cowpokes is the only team that rivals us in FA signings. They usually are close to us in cap space or lack thereof.
Don't forget that Denver made the trade w/us which allowed us to draft JC, who I believe is developing into a top notch qb. Thanks Broncos!

Re: Perspective from Denver

I wouldn't be heartbroken if Shawn Springs gets cut. He's a loudmouth who needs to keep his ass on the field. He talks a lot of smack about other teams when he's not even in the lineup (see Giants: LaVar and one other game I can't remember). He has the same problem as Cornelius Griffin: Injuries. Is it bad luck? Yeah, I'd say so, but bad luck has him stealing money. That's the reason both of them were available in the first place, they're always hurt. They're overrated now, when they're on the field they're very good...when they're on the field.

Ummm, I don't know if we can thank the Broncos just yet. Let's see how JC progresses -- then, maybe we can have the last laugh.

Otherwise, the Broncos not only have a far better win-loss record than Washington over the last few seasons, they also got the best of us with the Champ + a 2nd rounder for Portis deal.

I agree Beem, we have no idea what JC can do.

Also, Denver is a perennial playoff contender while the Redskins have become perennial bottom dwellers. If the Skins had half the recent success Denver has had we'd consider ourselves lucky.

no doubt. They also were smart enough to trade for javon Walker while we were doing a deal for Brandon Loyd!

I certainly agree w/you on the Champ trade, I hated to see him go. But the trade for JC looks like it was worth it regardless of what he does in the future. by that I mean it was worth the chance to draft a qb & develop him as the qb of the future. I'm not getting out the annointing oils just yet, but I like what I see from him & he seems to be a poised guy whose very grounded. T. Bradshaw rated him as 6th best of the young qbs in the league. That seems about right at this point.

I'm not sure "much better version of Aaron Brooks" does him justice. Much better than Brooks...that could be me!
